Lake activities continue in the winter with an average of 85' of snow per season. Snowmobile or snow shoe across the lake. Play some pick up hockey or ice skate 80 ft. from your door. The only thing holding you back is your imagination, and maybe the size of your car. Surrounding Areas: Mackinac Island is located just a short 35 min drive north. Take an 18 minute ferry ride to the place where cars aren't allowed and fudge lines the streets. Have a boat? Boat through the Cheboygan river and be at the island in 90 minutes, from our dock. The Cheboygan locks are fun for the kids. Don't forget to bring your squirt guns or water balloons for the river trip. Everyone has fun on the river. Cheboygan is located 15 mins north and has all your conveniences, ie Walmart, hospital, 5 screen movie theater, and many restaurants, sit down or fast. Located 12 mins south of the property is Indian River. This quaint tourist town, located between Burt and Mullet Lakes, is a wonderful place to stroll. Visit the small shops, local eateries, have an ice cream and play mini golf. Great town to relax and enjoy yourself.

Outdoors Lover?: Mackinaw State Forest is located 2 miles away. Enjoy the Forest for it's ORV, hiking and biking trails. Wildlife hunting available too. Mullet Lake is the second largest inland lake in Michigan. The property is located in a northern facing bay which is perfect for fishing. Ocqueoc Falls, located 30 mins away, is the only recognized waterfall in Michigan's lower peninsula. Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park is only 25 minutes north. Don't leave your GPS at home, there are some great Geocaching locations, for kids, nearby. See real lumberjacks at one of the Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows. Big Bear Adventures has mini golf, canoe, kayak, tube and raft rentals. Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Pictured Rocks and The Sault Ste. Marie, MI locks are great day trips. Gorgeous Lake Front Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed every inch of this Northern Getaway! Large beautiful kitchen was stocked and was great for fixing meals for the whole gang. 20 of us in all and plenty of room to move around! The entire home is creatively decorated to give it that up north feel with all the comforts of home. The large deck was a treat for all to look out at the lake, watch the kids play in the sand and jump on the trampoline. The yard was big enough for volleyball games which the family played daily. Our 1st time on Mullet Lake we were surprised at how clear the water was and enjoyed the sandy bottom. The older kids had fun swimming out to and jumping off of the floating dock. It was nice being close to the boat launch as a family memeber brought up his ski boat, we were also able to rent a pontoon boat from a local marina. Unfortunately, the winds picked up and we were not able to use the boats as much as we had hoped. The teenagers took over the basement for sleeping (sleeping in) and it was nice they had their own bathroom. The extra fridge in the basement came in handy too! And I don't think there was a night that we didn't gather around the bonfire either! Like I said, we enjoyed every inch!

Nicole was great to work with, ways answered my many many questions promptly. Thank you Nicole!

Absolutely gorgeous house in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

The only reason I gave it a four out of five instead of a five is because we are a high school video class that has stayed there for three years now, for two nights each time, and the price jumped up on us quite a bit this year. We love the place, but the cost for two nights now almost put it out of reach for us to be able to stay again. The house is great and it is very well taken care of. My students LOVE it and look forward to staying in it each year.

Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time celebrating New Years Eve. Plenty of room for the 16 of us. Lots of room for TV watching, game playing or just reading a book. Our grandson enjoyed the games in the basement, became a foosball champ! The only thing that would have made our weekend better was to have had a MSU win!!

We would recommend this Indian River property. Nicole was very easy to reach and answered any concerns promptly. We hope to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the beautiful lake and porch on the home.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this house is fantastic- so beautiful and spacious inside and out. We had 8 adults and 5 grandkids and we enjoyed every minute we had there. We were in awe of the details and how well stocked the kitchen was and the quality throughout! Even with a storm all day Sunday, we found things to do. We made use of the downstairs area and played pool and cards and the grandkids had ample choice of toys to play with! The deck overlooking the lake was perfect for our group--like a giant playpen for our grandkids age 5 and under. No worries about kids falling down stairs! The weather was cooler than most August days, but we still made the most of it and got on the lakes and rivers every chance we could! On one of the so/so weather days, we drove to Mackinac City and saw how that has grown since the last time we'd been there! There is just so much to see and do in this area and we have always loved it. We will definitely be back another year. None of us wanted to leave! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us.
