Harrison Spring Cabin - Overlooking the Blue River and Harrison Spring - Cozy enough for two, but large enough to sleep four comfortably. The Harrison Spring Cabin overlooks where the spring empties into the Blue River. Harrison Spring is one of the largest springs east of the Mississippi River and is on the National Natural Landmark List. The cabin is on stilts and affords a nice view of the Blue River and the spring. The spring is always 54 degrees and this really moderates the temperature around the cabin. A large wrap around porch offers extended river views and is a relaxing place for friends and guests to gather. An interior family room offers additional gathering opportunities.
The cabin is furnished in a river camp atmosphere and features a full bathroom with shower. There are two bedrooms and both bedrooms have a double bed. The Cabin is air conditioned and heated.
Convenient access to the Blue River: The Blue River is well known for canoeing, fishing, and abundant wildlife. Much of the lower stretch of the river is bordered by Harrison Crawford State Forest and O'Bannon Woods State Park. The property is conveniently located on the river so that you can arrange a variety of trips using public access points up and downstream.

second time staying and we were just as excited absolutely Love this place and the owners are very friendly ,Definitely worth the money Nice and clean and relaxing If you don't want being bothered and away from people this is definitely where you need to stay
The moment we stepped in the little cabin we felt like we were right at home. There were three of us (women) who immediately said that we could see ourselves living here. I must admit that one of the bedrooms and the shower were a little small. But being challenged is 1/2 the fun! There were plenty of pans, dishes, and bath towel's. Also, there were plenty of DVD's and lots of great roads to walk. We would definitely go back! Thanks to our hosts for the great cabin on the river.
We loved the location and listening to the sound of the river. The balconies are great, and we really loved the area. However, we traveled as 4 adults (two couples) and the cabin is too small for 4 adults. The smaller of the two bedrooms has a double bed, but no where to store clothes (we had to store them in the hallway closet, which made getting dressed awkward). You cannot shut the door to the bedroom without having the bed almost up against the wall, which makes it awkward for 2 adults. The larger bedroom has a ceiling fan, but the smaller room doesn't, and it got hot the last two days of our stay, and there was no way to cool off the smaller bedroom (the air conditioner is at the other end of the cabin from the bedrooms), especially with the door closed at night for sleeping.
The shower in the bathroom is also VERY tiny. All four of us found it to be uncomfortable to use.
The property is wonderful, and the area is great. We loved the Overlook restaurant in Leavenworth, IN and The Bard's Town restaurant/theater in Louisville, KY. We also went to Indiana Caverns, and enjoyed the trip.
We will probably not be back, because we travel as 4 adults, but this would be a good cabin for 3 adults or 2 adults/2 children.
If you love the sound of rushing water, this is the place. Unfortunately it was very hot and humid when we were there so we didn't have the door open to be able to listen as we fell asleep. The cabin is just as described and was clean. Lovely setting and we would definitely go back again. Only one problem.....we didn't realize there was no television reception at all....a problem for my son-in-law. He survived. : ) But there is a large selection of VHS tapes, Easy access to cabin, if you are traveling by motorcycles, as we were. There is also a winery about a mile from the cabin if you enjoy visiting wineries. Also several other wineries not too far away.
Absolutely Loved It? The cabin is extremely nice and inviting The pictures on the website is Right On .Definitely worth the money!!!!!Really enjoyed our stay was kinda sad when we had to leave. The property manager was extremely nice and was Always willing to answer any questions or help anyway she could, Definitely Will Be Staying there again Thank You for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful property
