A four season home along the southwest shore of Long Lake in Saxeville Wisconsin. This spacious vacation destination has it all for the family year round vacation. This private home has 97 feet of manicured beach nesessled on a lagoon that gives you the perfect balance of open water and privacy to enjoy all of your summer activities. Long Lake is an enclosed lake that measures 272 acres.

It is an unrestricted lake that offers boating for all, from fishing to personal watercrafts and everything in between, if sailing is more your speed join the local sailing regatta for a fun spirited sail boat race. The rental includes a canoe and a paddle boat for your use but feel free to bring your own boat; we have a private dock for safe secure mooring and a garage to store your trailer. This vacation house is centrally located between Green Bay and Milwaukee. Your view is southeast so you enjoy a beautiful sunrise for those that are up that early if you are not an early riser don’t worry you will have a full day of sun on your private beach with sun until late afternoon.

There is abundant wildlife to observe. Long Lake is annually stocked by local sporting clubs and boasts fishing of walleye, northern, pike, perch, bluegills and other pan fish. There are turkey wondering the property from time to time and even deer that come to the lake for a refreshing drink of fresh water from the natural spring lake that keep the lake clean and refreshing all year long.

We have thought of everything inside and outside the cottage. The cottage has 2200 square feet to spread out and relax, a beautiful sun room for those who want to enjoy the outdoors without going outdoors. There is a outdoor fire pit and a wet bar for a daily meeting area or card game. There are full bathrooms on both main floors and the floor plan is laid out so you can enjoy the view of the lake from all three floors as well as the outdoor deck that covers the full length of the home.

When you want to continue your adventure there are many small towns within just a few miles of your front door. Wild Rose is a quaint little town where you can find a full grocery after the necessities are taken care of there are flower shops, fruit and vegetable stands as well as antique shops for that something special. The towns of Waupaca and King are just a few minutes ride to the west and offer various custom shops as well as many restaurants representing every taste. Waupaca also has golf courses and driving ranges for those enthusiasts.

About The Owner

We have owned and rented this cottage for 10 years now and have made many memories and met many good people. As with all things in life it is now time for a change. This property will soon be placed on the market for sale. However we would still like to continue renting this property in the event it doesn't sell this season. We are adjusting the rent from $1,700 per week to $1,000 per week. You can book and rent this beautiful property for this discounted rate but there is a risk that the property may sell before your rental period. At that time we would refund all of your payments.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose

What we liked most about this property is the privacy. There is a peninsula out in front of the property that keeps boat traffic away from the beach and ensures peace and quiet. If you want to go out boating on the lake you can, then when you return to the cottage you are on a nice private cove.

Nice place, not much of a view of the lake

  • 4 of 5

Overall the place is pretty nice. The kids had a blast on the big sandy beach and shallow water. The lagoon is weedy but the owner did a pretty good job minimizing the weeds around the beach area. The kids were having fun fishing for bluegills off the dock and the lake is very clear. There are very few rentals on this lake and it is very quiet. The house is nicely landscaped and has a nice fire pit area.

The house was clean and has a nice big 4 season room and a deck on the back. They also let you use the 2 car garage. The rooms are roomy with a king sized bed in the master and the other 3 had bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on top. The basement bedroom also has the furnace, dehumidifier, washer, and dryer.

The pictures in this ad are accurate but there are a few things you should know about this rental. This house does not have a good view of the lake. The picture in this ad is of the lagoon and its access to the lake. Right across the lagoon is a line of tall trees blocking your view of the lake. If you are looking for a house where you can wake up in the morning and gaze onto the lake, this isn't the place for you. To enjoy the lake, you will need to have a boat. They have a paddle boat and canoe for your use but there is no boat rental on the lake. You can rent a pontoon from Taylor Lake Marine in Waupaca who delivers, but don't expect a nice pontoon boat.

The house doesn't come with linens, towels and pillows which isn't ideal if people are flying in.

The week we stayed it reached 100 degrees outside and the air condidtioner had trouble keeping the master bedroom cool. The family ended up moving to the basement bedroom where it was cool, dark, and had the continuous noise from the furnace and dehumidifier. They slept very well in the basement room.

We have young children and did not find a whole lot to do nearby besides play on the lake and beach. The kids didn't complain though since that's all they wanted to do anyway.

Other interesting tidbits:

We've rented a few lake houses in the past and it seems there's always something quirky in them. The quirky thing in this house is there is a toilet in the master bedroom closet.

Again, overall the place is pretty nice. It depends on what you are looking for in a vacation whether this house is right for you. If you are looking for a quiet place with a good sized beach, a shallow swimming area with access to a lake, then this place will work.
