Our classic Chicago apartment is located in a traditional brick and stone 2 unit walk up. It has been lovingly restored and updated to provide both a sense of Chicago's past and the comforts of today.

Lincoln Park is a vibrant area of restaurants, shops, parks and recreation. We are a 10 minute bike ride (less than a mile) from the lakefront and its many beaches, parks, and miles of paved path for biking/running/rollerblading . Excellent public transportation, the Fullerton L is a 10 minute walk, with brown/red/purple lines connecting to the heart of downtown Chicago,the world famous Magnificent Mile shopping, Millenium Park, the Art Institute, and many theaters and museums.

Within walking distance of Lakeshore Athletic Club and DePaul Athletic Center, both of which offer day passes.

Located 10 minutes from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, and Fullerton Avenue beach. This is an excellent area for family activities as well as adult entertainment.

Local Highlights: This unit is located steps from Webster Place Theater, Barnes & Noble, Pot Belly and Starbucks and our favorite French patisserie Vanille . There is a tot lot on the block and several churches within walking distance. The neighborhood is famous for its many bars, restaurants, playgrounds, coffee shops and quaint and unique stores and boutiques. It is a clean, safe, active area.

1/2 block from Treasure Island grocery store. There is a Trader Joe's, Mariano's, and a Whole Foods within a 5 minute drive, and a Costco nearby.

Home features: This unit has beautiful hardwood floors, ceramic floor in kitchen and bath. Kitchen has a pantry and lots of storage. Dishes and silverware, a variety of glassware, and table linens are provided.

One parking spot in the garage is included. Free on-street parking is available 24 hours per day. There is a small fenced yard (20' x 20'). The unit includes an enclosed ((3 season) back porch with a table that seats four/five. The porch area has 5 windows plus a ceiling fan/light and is very pleasant and breezy.

Great location. Very comfortable and quiet.

Four adults stayed for a long weekend in this attractive LP flat. Great neighborhood, close to Lincoln Park features, and good access to the rest of Chicago high points. Big kitchen, dining room - which we really didn't use. The furnishings are a little dated but as noted, quite comfortable and homey. Off-the-street parking also a bug plus. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect in every way

We could not have been more happy with our stay. Rosemary was great with communication leading up to our visit. The house was very spacious and equiped with every household essential. The location of the house is in a great area for dining and just short walk to the train. We will definitely recommend others and will be sure to book again when we visit chicago!

Overland Park

Great location and the physical space itself is good, but needs to work on just a couple of things

Overall had a pleasant stay. The people managing the property were nice, polite, and easy to reach. The location in the city is fantastic (right next to a grocery store) and the physical property itself is nice and comfortable with good furniture. There are a couple of details that if improved I would happily increase my rating.

1) The garage is available, but very small. Important to note with families that larger family cars will not fit (can't change it, but make sure to be open with families)

2) Two of the three fire alarms were broken and the last working alarm expired the following month

3) Wifi signal was weak

4) Old expired food in the pantry

Again, none of these are deal breakers, and if fixed would make a great location to stay in

Owner's Response: This review is a bit upsetting. We have been providing our home for vacation renters to Chicago for about 3 years with nearly 50 reviews. This is the lowest review we have ever received. Over 95% have been 5 star reviews with the rest 4 stars. The reason that it is upsetting is because 3 of its 4 complaints are questionable. The most important concerns fire safety. The unit has 4 smoke alarms, 2 carbon monoxide detectors and one fire extinguisher. None of which are expired. In fact there are no expiration dates on smoke alarms. All of the batteries had been replaced on the 1st of the year. All of them do work and all of them have been tested since this tenant's visit. We are not sure what they are talking about and we are very concerned about fire safety. The second concerns the garage. We personally park an SUV in the garage. The garage is a typical Chicago garage with a one car door. It is accessed in an alley. This is a crowded city and parking does require some driving skill. Third, we keep some staples in the pantry for the convenience of our guests. This might include, salt, pepper, peanut butter, spices, a box of cereal or pasta, napkins, paper towels and toilet paper. All of this is safely and neatly packaged. It is meant to save the tenant time. Never in the hundreds of rentals that we have had has anyone seen this courtesy to be a problem. Even if a box of cereal may have been out dated. Weak Wifi is aggravating. We have added numerous enhancements to provide faster and better wifi service. Most days the service is superb. We can't find a reason for the occasional slower service. Most importantly is the question of being "open to families". Our goal is always to answer any questions that arise, quickly and fully. Our profile is exhaustingly complete. We want people to not just enjoy their stay at our home but to relish their time with us. We've achieved this the vast majority of the time by being completely open to our guests about our home and its amenities. We have on occasion suggested prospects stay elsewhere when, after conversations, we felt our home would not meet their needs. In this case if the tenant had called (we gave them our number) and been more open to us we could have alleviated their concerns about the smoke alarms by testing them for them. We think this review is just plain wrong in part, and remarkably petty in others.

Comfortable, well equipped and very clean flat in good location.

Our family of 6 stayed here while visiting family in Lincoln Park. We were able to walk every we needed to be, but public transit was also available. The beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and blankets were provided. We enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen, playing games at the dining room table and reading in the living room. It was too cold to be outside, but the table on the back porch area would be great in warmer weather. It was great having a movie theatre and Treasure Island supermarket within a couple blocks. We would definitely recommend this flat.

Three of us stayed in this apartment for a girls weekend in Chicago. It was perfect! Loved the cozy living room with dappled sunlight where we spent a relaxed evening. The remodeled kitchen is a wonderful breakfast place where we chatted and drank coffee before heading out. The L is in easy walking distance and we used it to go all over the city. The iconic pizza place Pequod's is right around the corner and there are tons of other restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. A grocery is just a block away. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. In previous years we have stayed in hotels down town but from now on I will stay here on our annual trips. I strongly recommend it.

Great place to stay - steps to everything and just as described

My family of four (2 adults, 6 yr old and 7 yr old) had a great time staying here in Chicago. It was very spacious and well-equipped. It was very close to the train (about a 10-15 min walk), and just a block or so to the grocery store. We appreciated having a washer/dryer, coffee maker/grinder and the bath necessities provided for us. Rosemary was easy to work with and I would highly recommend staying here.
