About Craig & Jeannie Harvey
Craig and Jeannie were both born in the D.C. area. Craig grew up in Virginia Beach and Jeannie in Maryland. Both of us have wonderful memories of times with friends and family vacationing where water views were plentiful. Craig's sister and brother both bought their retirement homes here in Tappahannock. After spending most of the summer of 2016 with them, we were convinced we also wanted a property here that we could enjoy, as well as offer to others via VRBO. When we are not in Virginia, we call Bradenton, Florida our home. We both love to travel. Craig loves reading and Jeannie dabbles in photography.

Why Craig & Jeannie Harvey chose Tappahannock
We know that folks have endless choices when it comes to a vacation and choosing a place to stay that will offer lasting memories for family and friends. Certainly there are many options along the East coast that have all the bells and whistles - but sometimes that also means all the traffic, congestion and commercialism. We trust Lands End Lodge can serve as an alternative for some. If you are looking for a place to relax to the max, with the charm of a cozy cabin-type feel, then we hope our little slice of paradise might fit the bill for you.
What makes this House unique
In our opinion, the views are the best that can be offered. Where else can you witness a sunrise from the front of the house, and then sunset across the field in the backyard? We plan to enjoy this home ourselves at times throughout the year, and so we have put the little touches into convenience and decorating that we hope others will be able to appreciate as well during their stay.

Great stay at Lands End!!!
We totally enjoyed our visit! Place was nice & clean and comfortable!
The kids had a great time fishing, rafting and enjoying the beautiful weather. Played miniature golf & enjoyed delicious ice cream. Great mini getaway!
Great location, beautiful and very comfortable
We enjoyed the property very much. Everything was clean, well organized, plenty of amenities. Loved that the house was so close to the water and that we didn't have to walk across anything other than grass between the dock and the house...unlike all those times as a kid that I stepped on gumballs at my grandmother's!
Wonderful sunrises. The home is comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need. I would highly recommend this home
Lovely spot, comfortable home.
We loved it and hope we can come again! We found it a restful and quiet place the two weeks our group of seven women vacationed there. It was pleasant inside and even in the summer's heat pleasant in the yard by the river, with the shade of the maples in the afternoon and the breeze in the evening. The house was well-supplied (2.5 fridges!), comfortable and clean (even for several people with allergies, no trouble). We were especially glad of a well-stocked kitchen since we did most of our own cooking.
It was also a nice location to act as a launching pad for a few day trips, to D.C., Fredericksburg and Shenandoah National Park... and there's so much more an hour or so away that we didn't get to this time. Then we could come back and relax by the river and watch the ospreys and terns. Tappahannock itself was a nice little town and refreshingly un-touristy. Island Farm road was a nice walk right out the back door among marshes and farm fields. Kayaking and even swimming in the river were delightful in such a quiet spot.
Communication with renter was marked by courtesy and quick responses. We're grateful we got to share in their Rivah home.
Family Vacation Week of July 20, 2019
This was our second summer spending a week at Land's End. Once again, we were not disappointed! This house truly provides the comforts of home with the addition of waking up each morning to the beautiful serene views of the river. We have stayed at other homes over the years and this home is absolutely the best find. In terms of, convenience to local restaurants and shopping, comfort of the home with all the needed supplies ie well stocked kitchen, chairs, kayaks, and floats - overall the value of this vacation rental is exceptional. I can not say enough about how much my family has enjoyed this property and the ease I have experienced in communicating with the owners. We were sad to leave and are already looking forward to next years "Rivah Week"!
Just want to say this Cabin lived up to the listing. I have been coming down to this part of the since was a kid. This Cabin by far was set up the best. For my family it worked perfect. Fully Furnished with pretty much anything you will need. We will be staying again next year.
Tappahannock, located on the Rappahannock River, is the county seat and the oldest town in Essex County, Virginia, United States. It is older than Richmond, Fredericksburg and even Williamsburg. Captain John Smith landed here in 1608 but was driven back to his ship by the local Indians. Tappahannock is derived from an Indian name meaning “on the rise and fall of water.”
