About Tom & Tammy Walters

We are a family who enjoys the outdoors and peace and tranquilty. We also appreciate all of the comforts of home while away.

Tom & Tammy Walters purchased this cabin in 1994

Why Tom & Tammy Walters chose Park Falls

We traveled to this area of Wisconsin since childhood, and wanted our own children to enjoy it as we had. The Pike Lake chain is beautiful and unspoiled. We still see Bald Eagles and Osprey while out boating. Deer come to the window while we are dining.

Fantastic Minoqua Area Lake Property

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our time at this great cabin. We loved the fireplace and the lake view. Very nice furniture and comfortable beds. The local maintenance man was very available and helpful. My wife wanted to be able to go out to great restaurants and have an up north experience close Minoqua. This property fit the bill perfectly. Pike Lake chain is a great fishery too. Huge window made it feel like a much more expensive property. We will come again. Great clean water in the cabin was a plus too.

Great Fishing Cabin

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here with my brothers and dad for Memorial Day weekend. Our primary objective was fishing and card games in the cabin and this place is definitely right for that.

First off, the lakes are great for fishing. We were able to hit crappies and panfish during the day and picked up walleye every evening. Even ran into a few northern as well. Despite it being opening weekend for musky and a holiday weekend, boat traffic was light.

The house is perfect for this kind of trip. Open floor plan leaves plenty of room for cooking, cards, and watching tv when you're not outside enjoying the beautiful area.

Musky Jacks is less than a mile drive and has a great lakeside bar/grill that doubles as a bait shop too.

I would definitely give this place 5 stars however we did run into a couple problems. The pontoon we had rented from the owner broke down on us on the second day. We were stranded on the lake momentarily, however I will say that the property manager was out there to help us within about 45 minutes from us calling him. He came out, towed us back, and gave us access to another fishing boat. The replacement was a little tight for 4 guys fishing, but we made it work. During our stay we also discovered that the coffee maker was missing and there was no propane for the grill, however the property manager fixed both of those issues during our stay as well. We were told that we were the first renters of the season, so I guess that's why they missed a couple things.

You can't complain too much about an issue when there's somebody willing to promptly make it right so I would definitely give this place another chance. Upon returning from our trip, the owner reached out to apologize for the boat troubles we had and offered a discount on a return trip. I just might take him up on that if I can get away from work another weekend.

What a comfortable cabin experience !

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was well suited for city people who don't "rough it" in the north woods. We had 2 couples & 3 under 3 yrs. and we all slept comfortably. We had extended family from the area that came for dinners during our stay and there was plenty of seating areas. We even hosted a Badger game thanks to the amenities of a great TV, comfortable couches, air conditioning & my personal favorite a dishwasher! Everyone had a great time in this cabin because it was as it was described and we hope to return in the future.

Family with teenagers

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was well equipped and we had plenty of room for our four teenagers. The washer/dryer were great to have and the wifi worked well.

The dock and swimming area was great (after we got over the root beer colored water). I would not rent the pontoon again as the motor did not work well nor have enough power.

Owners were around part of the week and are friendly/helpful.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed our property! It's great to know there is enough band with on the WiFi for the entire family all with cell phones and computers. We apologize for the issue with the pontoon. Unfortunately the previous renters destroyed the propeller and we didn't catch it before you rental. Its up and running like a top. Note it is a 20ft pontoon with a 40 horse motor. Thanks Again The Walters Family.

week up north

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed. We appreciated having a washer and dryer too! It was a beautiful, calm lake and the kids loved playing on the pier and the water. The only thing we would have loved is a screened-in porch! The mayflies and mosquitoes were thick enough that we actually couldn't spend any time outside except for out on the water. The owners were next door for part of the time we were up there, and they were very helpful and friendly!! Overall, we would definitely stay there again :)
