we had a lovely stay, middle of winter very cold but we had the place to ourselves. had heating in the cabin and open fire. dogs had the best time, free range and million new smells to smell.
Nice get away
A huge open place away from it.
This was a lovely area to get away from it all. Although it would be nice to know the toad to get there would not be suited for low cars, escpecialy if it were to rain. I was also not aware it was a camping area and there were other people around. I was looking for seclusion. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay and unwind.
Beautiful and idyllic
Quiet, lovely spot on the river with good flat picnic areas. Would have given it 5 stars but it was unfortunate there was so much cow parties everywhere leaving a constant manure smell - we were on a cattle farm though so I guess that was expected. Shame the river was filthy too but this was just after big storms in NSW, so was just unfortunate.
Beautiful & peaceful place
We had an amazing time here and would love to come back for sure. The view is so beautiful & peaceful which pictures couldn’t capture enough its actual beauty. We did canoeing, bushwalking and other stuff. The sky was one of the clearest ones we had ever seen. If you’re sick of crowded city, this place is perfect for a getaway. The only thing you cannot do here is the flying fox, the owner said this cannot be played any more due to a recent incident which was not the farm’s fault. If you love cooking, please bring your own food, cooking oil and seasoning; whereas all cooking equipment, plates, cutlery are available here for you.
In general, we really loved the stay! Thank you Roger!
Unique riverside setting; comfortable no-frills accommodation
Perfect if you're a couple that enjoys camping but are ready for something a bit sturdier with a shower and loo. The cabin is basic but comfortable. The setting is superb, metres from the Wollondilly River. We hoped to see platypus & weren't disappointed - saw all three of them, more than once. Best times were between 6am-8am and dusk, and you need to go quietly & look for ripples on the water. Magic way to enjoy your first cuppa of the day or first drink of an evening. Plenty of other wildlife around too.
Kitchen utensils are basic so bring anything you might miss; this includes condiments, cooking oil etc. Linen's provided. Extra green points for the composting toilet - Aussie design, super effective.
The farm also allows camping. We were there in school holidays so there were quite a few families, but apart from the sound of little kids having fun, no one was noisy, everyone was friendly, and it's still a quiet getaway. Property manager Beth and owner Roger were also both friendly and helpful.
You're 20-40 minutes away from various Southern Highlands townships so there are plenty of options for day trips, or just spend the day going up and down the river on foot or in the canoe. Bring your binoculars!
