THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE

  • 1 of 5

I have to assume the 5 star reviews were left from friends and family of the owner. I was jaw dropped by the condition of the home vs how the pictures look. Ran into the tenants staying there before me and they were furious. Appliances didn't work, mattresses were broken, everything in the house was obviously from a flea market. I was required by the owner to do laundry wash and dry the bedsheets if I didn't bring my own, go out and buy batteries and light bulbs if I wanted to use the TV remote and wanted the bedroom lights to work. Additionally, all window curtains were broke, wifi didn't work, my fiancé had an asthma attack from the thick layer of dust on everything, all the deck furniture was unusable bc it was so broken, the owner refused to get propane for the 1970's grill, the owner refused to answer my calls and would only text me to me during the hours of 3pm-5pm, despite telling me the contrary prior to arrival. Asked the homeowner about these problems and he told me to deal with it. I wish there was a way I could post these pictures I took so that everyone could avoid this place.

Owner's Response: Please ignore this review. This guest tried to EXTORT me for his money back. He was confrontational, insulting, and looking for anything wrong the minute he arrived. He showed up at 9 am (check in is typically after 1 pm) and demanded to get into the apartment. The only truth to his review are that the remote needed batteries and one of the lights needed lightbulbs. (BOTH FIXABLE problems) I wont go on and on about this guest - please refer to the other very positive reviews that my apartment has gotten. Thank you for reading.

Perfect location to enjoy Boston!

  • 4 of 5

This cozy apartment is on a residential street, within short walking distance of restaurants, Freedom Trail, markets, subway and the water. It can easily accommodate 4 or 5 people with 2 queens and a sleep-worthy sofa. Lovely kitchen and large bathroom. Patrick was easily accessible via phone/text/email and responded immediately to any concern with quick follow through. We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy North End Apartment

  • 5 of 5

First of all Patrick is great, gets back to you quickly. The pros: the North End is a nice, quiet part of town. Has a great atmosphere with all the family owned restaurants and stores. The only cons I had was it was on the 4th floor a lot of stairs to get up, not a problem for us but for others just a fair warning. We stayed here to go see the Sox and Fenway, was easy transportation to and from the rental to Fenway. Great tourist areas are also really close to the apartment. Would stay here again and recommend for groups of 3-4!

Great place, great location

  • 4 of 5

We were 2 couples here for the Marathon and were lucky to get this place.

Pluses: Clean and comfortable, and by far the best location in Boston. Very livable. 10 minute walk to the underground (i.e. the "T"),and a 2 minute walk to about 25 great restaurants and bakeries. Lots of history in the whole area. The rooftop is an awesome little retreat/happy hour spot, with stunning views. Comfortable beds. Patrick is pretty flexible. Super quiet, almost zero city noise.

Minuses: Not many, although if you are looking for swanky, new, and luxurious, this probably isn’t your place. Also, the furniture on the roof is pretty old and shabby, although it’s likely shared by all 4 apartments in the building and I don't know what Patrick could do about that.

All in all, highly recommended.

Great location, safe area

  • 4 of 5

Great location, can walk most anywhere you want to go and if it is too far, there is always the subway and commuter train. 4 women, ages 52 - 72 - we all felt very safe in walking the neighborhood, alone or together, even at night.

When we got there the place had not been cleaned and only three chairs in the kitchen even though we had previously confirmed there would be four. Patrick took care of the cleaning while we were out the day we arrived. The fourth chair was delivered a couple days later.

We found the place very comfortable. It is four flights of narrow stairs to climb. The worst part was getting the suitcases up and down. Beyond that there was no problem with the stairs. We usually left in the morning and returned in the evening. Some nights, we left again later and had to climb again. View from the roof at night was very beautiful.

We ran into a problem at the end of our stay as our flight was later in the day. We were allowed to leave our luggage and was able to pick it up later, which was very nice. Not sure what we were going to do with it. Originally there was no one scheduled to move in the day we left either.
