The Somewhere in Time, Carriage House invites you to come in, relax and enjoy the comfort of this beautiful cottage like home.
Located 4 miles north of Lake George, this lovely home is nestled on four acres of lush, manicured grounds with formal garden and fish pond. You'll find yourself able to relax with a good book, cozy up by the fire place or watch a good movie. You may enjoy the day antiquing, shopping, or exploring everything the beautiful Adirondack and Lake George region has to offer. Night life in the village is awesome and the dining is wonderful!
The House: This house has been built and finished July of 2011 it has everything you need and more. It was designed for my son and his Family as he has 4 little children. I designed to sleep 12 to 14 so we could all stay together if we wanted. The 2 lofts make for a great place for the kids to play and be out of the way, at the same time you can entertain in the great open floor plan.
It would make a great ski retreat or great addition to the Main House for additional guest you may have along on your family vacation. There is nothing more to say, because pictures say a thousand words!!!!
The Grounds: This House is placed on a 4 Acre lot and has a Beautiful array of flowers and plants to Brighten up the yard. It features a Formal Garden for Relaxing and taking in the Fresh Air of the Great Adirondacks, enjoying a good book or just enjoying the family and surroundings. It also has a Ample Theater if you choose to have a Band or Presentation outside. There is a Small fire pit out in the back and Furniture for sitting around and cooking marshmallows. New this summer is a playscape and Play House for the kids. There is also a Pool and Deck to cool off, when not in the lake.
The Lake: There is a dock, a swim platform and a sitting area down at the lake across the street, that you are welcome to use and i can't find the words to describe the lake. I would have to say that it is one of gods greatest creations. 35 miler long and 3 miles wide surrounded by mountains. there is many things to do on the water and rental locally for anything that you could possibly want.
A group of 10 of us late twenty something (and early thirty somethings) got away for 3 nights to escape the rush hour traffic and noise of central Jersey to find a quiet property in Diamond Point, NY (just 4 miles north of the Lake George Village). Although the space inside the home was small, we spent more time outside enjoying the sun, playing lawn games in the many patches of grass on the property while also enjoying the shared pool and 2 story deck (for weddings) on the property.
Carolla (the property manager) greeted us on-site on 3 hours prior to our scheduled check in and was very accomodating, showing us all around the house and property, while giving us directions to the best places to eat, drink and explore for fun. She made us feel very comfortable and stressed that we could utilize all the amenities that came with the home, which helped since it left us with minor items left to purchase for the duration of our stay.
I would recommend this to anyone from a busy area who wants some peace and quiet on a lake that is absolutely stunning. Also, the gentleman at Dockside Marina (about 25 miles north in Hague) were a great bunch of guys that switched us out into a new rental boat due to our pontoon engine malfunctioning. Great weekend!
The property was as advertised. Everything was clean and well maintained. The owner and property manager was always available to answer any questions that we had.
We are looking forward to our stay this year in the Carriage House. This will be our third year and each year it gets better and better. My Grandchildren just love the lofts, in the evening they get up in the loft play cards and use all their electronic devices, and we can enjoy the living and kitchen to visit with friends . Everyone is friendly and the yard has room to roam. The pool is really great . It truly is a great place to rest and relax. Everything is there that you could possibly want or need. Now if I could Get a chef to come in I'd be very happy. I'm already looking forward to my time there this summer just to see what's new. Thanks John so much for doing such a great job of accommodating my family.
The descriptions of this property is all a lie!!! There are only 2 rooms in this house which is in the basement, you DO NOT consider the 2 little holes above the kitchen a bedroom and it is very dangerous for anyone to sleep up there. We had a group of 14 thinking that we can all sleep comfortably as describe by the owner....but NO...most of us end up sleeping on the floor and couch. The owner was not very nice, we rented a boat figuring we have a dock to park bc that what the owner said over the phone, instead he said he have his own boat park there and that we should dock it somewhere else, so we end up docking it at the rental place and had to walk back. It was just a nightmare, the entire place was just so deceiving.
I WOULD NEVER COME BACK EVER AGAIN!!!
This was a last minute rental. We realized we had a few days off and I emailed inquiring about this property and kept all my fingers crossed. John, the owner, was really great about setting everything up and making it work.
There were 7 of us and we stayed in the carriage house, next to the main (larger) house. This place was perfect! Just what we were looking for! It has 2 downstairs bedrooms and 2 loft areas on the main floor, as well as a pull-out couch so each person had their own space.
There's a pool and a playground on the property and the lake (with private dock) a short walk across the street. We also went to the nearby horse stables one day, as well as rented a boat for the day just 1/2 mile down the road. It's a great location with plenty to do at the house and nearby.
The house is kept very clean and includes anything you could possibly need at all. Nora, who manages the property, is the best. She was super sweet and very helpful and available in case we had questions.
We highly recommend this place and are looking at our calendars to figure out dates for next Summer!
