About the property

The town house has ducted heating, a large galley style kitchen with dishwasher, large open plan lounge/dining with glass doors leading out to the gardens and pergola BBQ area.

Centrally located with only a few minutes walk to Lake Wendouree, the beautiful Botanic Gardens and the center of Ballarat. Just minutes from the Wendouree train station, 15 mins to Creswick, 35 mins to Daylesford and 75 minutes to Geelong. A fantastic base for exploring the region.

Things to see and do

If you venture out to discover what the region has to offer you will not be disappointed.

Ballarat is blessed with the iconic Sovereign Hill which is a fantastic day out for all ages. Kryal Castle brings castles, knights and fair maidens into the 21st century. The Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka is a lesson in our history and the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery resides in one of the finest gold-era buildings in Victoria. A sprightly walk around the lake might only take you 45 minutes (or more like 2 hours for us if you stop for a tipple). Ballarat has made a name for itself as a gourmet destination with an abundance of local cafes and cool climate wine districts nearby (Captains Creek and the Blue Pyrenees are faves) and the black diamond of the culinary world (truffles) are also grown in the region - gratuitous plug for our other farm-stay B&B and truffiere (Black Cat Cottage and Trufferie)!!.

Creswick is a beautiful little town with its own French patisserie, cheesery and Forest Resort championship golf course. You may wish to explore the many walking tracks or you may like to visit The Tangled Maze and mini golf.

Daylesford is only a 35 minute drive through picturesque countryside with cafe’s, bric a brac and antique shops. Maybe stop and have lunch on the Daylesford Lake and burn off those calories with a paddle boat ride on the lake.

Why not make Rivendell House your base for day trips?

Clean, fresh and very welcoming

  • 5 of 5

The home was very clean and modern, you could see that the ownerstook pride in caring for their property. Plenty of games and DVDs if you wanted to use them as well.

Well equipped house

  • 5 of 5

Very inviting warm and cosy house with plenty of space for our family of 5. The board game and DVDs were a highlight and kept us and our kids entertained when we had some down time. The bread, fresh milk and condiments were highly appreciated. House was clean, neat and tidy. Being able to park the car in the garage was great. With a short walk to the botanical gardens and a 5 min drive to the city centre this house comes highly recommended.
