Hill End Lodge provides accommodation that is filled with peace and tranquility. A sanctuary for artists and historians that’s rich in history and character. It’s in this picturesque backdrop you’ll find the comfy beds and welcoming fires of the Hill End Lodge.
The Hill End Lodge is the ideal retreat to get back to nature, indulge in fine food and wine or just unwind. In the late 1800’s, a discovery was made in the picturesque hillsides 60km or so south of Mudgee; a discovery that would change this area forever. Gold!
Almost overnight, a thriving community established close to the source of the find. The name of that settlement was Hill End.
The sprawling gangs of miners are now nothing but a memory. The raucous laughter of miners ore-rich and whisky drunk no longer echo around the local pub. What remains, however, is a beauty beyond gold. A charm that radiates from the landscape, the burning sunsets and the hearty smiles of locals.
Hill End Lodge has 30 beautifully appointed lodges situated among lush rolling lawn. Hill End Lodge have rooms available that comfortably accomodate up to 4 adults. Larger numbers per room can be arranged upon request.
Each rooms offers:
- Tea and coffee making facilties
- Air conditioning
Discounts offered on additional nights.
Being just over 3 hours northwest of Sydney, Hill End Lodge is the ideal retreat to get back to nature, indulge in fine food and wine, paint and unwind. By day, guests can stroll into the historic gold mining town, walk or bike ride one of the scenic trails, partake in any of the local tours and activities.
For the more relaxed, simply rest in the rustic surrounds and landscaped gardens of the Lodge and enjoy the local wine and cheeses. As night falls, many head to the top of the Hill for stargazing. Just as popular is the large fire pit, which allows up to 80 people to sit untouched by the chill of night and to reflect on the unique mix of attractions that makes a stay at the lodge such a golden experience.

Beautiful and relaxed property
We loved staying at hill end lodge! The evening kangaroos were a delight and the rooms were clean and the continental breakfast was nice. It is a surprisingly well-equiped set up and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to others.
We were looking for somewhere cheap, and so we were happy with the bunk-bed style accommodation with the shared bathroom. Being Winter, it was very cold, but we knew in advance that there would be power in the room and that we could bring our own heater. The owner was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
hey, how are you? I just wanted to let you know I think you have gotten your review wrong as we do not have bunk beds in our lodge. are you maybe thinking of the ranch>?
