A spacious renovated farm house with three bedrooms, two large living areas, sunroom, and undercover outdoor BBQ area, sleeps up to 8 guests. Walk into town along the walking track beside the beautiful and tranquil Gunbower Creek, the birdlife along the creek is amazing!

Rural retreat

  • 4 of 5

We took this house for a family reunion, and it more than fitted the bill. There was enough room to be together, or get away from the crowd. Set off the main road, it was quiet (apart from wildlife noise - who knew frogs could be so loud). The dam (unfenced) was an endless supply of fun for the only child present, as were the calves. It is a pretty, short walk to the creek, and an half hour walk along a path into town. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable; plenty of fluffy towels were supplied, and each room has an air-conditioner, a must in summer. Although there is only one bathroom, there are two toilets, and one has a vanity, so it was easy for us to avoid a bathroom log-jam.

On the down side - although there are two couches in the pool room, it could use another couch in the living room, as there were not quite enough seats for our large group. I would not take children under 10 while the irrigation canal and dam at the edge of the garden are unfenced. The house is not on town water, The drinking water tap in the kitchen could use a label - for the townies.

Michael was very helpful, meeting us on arrival, explaining everything. He and Michelle responded promptly when we had a problem with the microwave. They had obviously kept everything in very good order, including the yard, which was neat and tidy.

Overall, the house was very good value for money.
