Rocky Mountain National Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.25 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Picture yourself far away from the stresses in your life. Away from work, the hunny-do list, away from the daily grind, traffic, junk mail, bills, errands...You wake up in the morning refreshed and the first sounds you hear are the wind in the trees and the birds. As you lay there you contemplate “What shall I do today?”... Take the two minute drive to the Rocky Mountain National Park and continue up Trail Ridge Road for spectacular views of the great divide... perhaps go hiking or just see what wildlife there is to see... or maybe just hang out on the deck at the cabin for the wildlife viewing, as our year round residents the moose, deer, fox etc. do often cross the property. Yes, maybe just hang out at the cabin. Play a game of horseshoes, put together a puzzle, sit in the comfortable lounge chairs with a cold drink and read or take a nap in the hammock surrounded by evergreen, aspen and wild flowers. It’s a delight just to walk around the cabin and discover that each room is decorated with a different theme and each has its own unique bear.

Perchance, if you get inspired, you’ll take the 1 mile walk around Columbine Lake and stop at the access points for more fabulous views of the mountains around the area while you let the kids play on the playground at the shore. Maybe tomorrow you’ll want to venture out for golfing in a beautiful backwoods golf course, there is plenty of opportunity for fishing, boating and exploring on picturesque Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby as the three are connected. Be sure to take a walk down the boardwalk in the old west village of Grand Lake for a wonderful meal at one of the superb restaurants or to do a little shopping. You can’t forget to pick up souvenirs for all those people at home that aren’t getting to enjoy the same things you are.

For those of you that can’t quite get away from it all we do have WIFI.

Whatever you decide to do you’ll enjoy your stay in the “Not Forgotten Cabin” where everything you need is there to make your stay delightful.

Worked great for our family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This cabin worked great for our three generation family vacation. The layout with two bedrooms and bath upstairs and two bedrooms and bath down stairs allowed for each family unit to have their own space. We were mainly interested in vacationing with small children , ages 6, 3, 2 and 3 months. The baby's bassinet even fit into the laundry room for his own room. The yard and proximity to the Columbine Lake Playground were a plus for our little ones. Grand Lake playground and beach were also very close. Trail Ridge Road was just a few minutes away. Adams Fall and Lake Irene Trails in RMNP were easy for our young hikers.

The cabin was well equipped and very clean. The outdoor space was beautiful. It was close to things but seemed very private. We had a great time!

perfect place

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for the 10 of us-3 generations reliving old memories of the area and making new ones.

3 bull moose were seen every day somewhere around or in Columbine Lake. Would definitely rent again if opportunity arises.

Nicely appointed vacation home with plenty of room and beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely with great attention to detail right down to soap for the washing machine, and plenty of towels. The house is nicely decorated with touches one does not usually see in a rental. It is close to Grand Lake and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. It has great views of the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even though there were only 4 of us I wanted a bigger place so we could all spread out and we did. The house could easily accommodate more though. This is the 6th time I have used VRBO and we have never been disappointed.

Perfect family vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Not Forgotten Cabin was the perfect house and perfect location for the 9 of us: grandparents, children, and grandchildren -- ages 13 to 70. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Located on scenic Columbine lake, we saw a moose lounging next to the deck, a doe and her fawns practically knocked on the door, and in the National Park we saw lots of elk and moose. Scores of nearby trails were for all levels of hikers. We rented a pontoon boat and paddle boards on Grand Lake. Horseback riding stables are nearby. It was a pleasure to deal with the owner. We all had a beautiful weeklong vacation, and we are giving it the highest rating!

Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

We totally enjoyed our time at Not Forgotten Cabin. Our extended family visited Colorado for the first time (from the east coast). The cabin was a great place to accommodate 12 of us. We saw loads of wildlife!! We were able to follow a couple of Moose!! The views at Columbine lake were beautiful. The proximity to RMNP and the town of Grand Lake was great!! The cabin was beautiful and clean and was well equipped. We would highly recommend this cabin. We hope to make Not Forgotten Cabin an annual event!

It is even nicer than the pictures!!!
