We stayed here for three nights in February. I was surprised when we arrived to find that the house was not on it's own block with the privacy that that brings, but was on a large block with several other holiday cottages and apartments. I was also disappointed to find that the office for the whole accommodation complex takes up the complete lower floor of this house and that the sounds of people moving around and talking in the office drift up into the house creating a great deal of noise. The living areas and beds were comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was a good size with good cooking facilities, but little storage space for our food as the pantry cupboard shown in the photos is locked. The outdoor areas are spacious and there is plenty of seating, although it was too cool for us to use them while we were there. The wood burning heater had been lit before we arrived on the first day which was welcome as it was cool. As that wood fire is the only form of heating with the exception of an electric column heater we did find it very cold in the mornings as there was little point in lighting the fire until we got back in the afternoons. I think that this house would be too cold for us in winter.
Hi Liz Sorry to hear that Seascapes was not quite what you expected- we are quite clear about the location of the house as part of the Driftwood Cottages collection and it's elevated position above the reception office. It's all been soundproofed so I am surprised that you were able to hear any noise at all but we will do some testing on that to ensure it cannot be a problem again! We hope that you enjoyed the glorious views and the spacious surrounds. The wood fire is certainly very efficient and keeps the house beautifully warm- we do however appreciate that if it isn't kept going overnight the house can get cool! You will be pleased to hear that a heat pump is being installed to provide additional heating in time for the cooler months! We hope we can welcome you back in the future, cheers Rachael
