Elouera is a three bedroom rock and timber cottage nestled among tall grey gums and iron barks. It is a bush cottage with all the comforts of a modern home. A large kitchen with ceramic top stove with fan forced oven, microwave and large fridge/freezer makes it ideal for groups of up to six people. There are two queen bedrooms and a twin single bedroom.
It is open plan with dining and living spaces flowing on from the kitchen. Elouera is heated with a slow combustion fireplace in winter and an air conditioner provides cooling in summer.
The cottage caters for guests with mobility limitations, having a bathroom with hobless shower and grab rails for the toilet. The veranda deck is also easily accessed from a wheelchair.
There is a small library of books and guests are welcome to bring their own to exchange with others in the collection. Being situated in the bush, there is no mobile or TV reception on site but a stereo, TV and DVD player is provided for entertainment along with a range of games and jigsaws.
The veranda is a great place to sit and take in the view or watch the birds as they drink and bathe at the bird bath. A gas bbq and outdoor fireplace is provided for cooking and general relaxation. Firewood is provided, along with kindling and firelighters however we generally advise against outdoor fires over summer. Elouera also boasts a very popular outdoor shower and a 'loo with a view'. Yeranda is a 140 acre bush property with numerous walking tracks for guests who want to explore. A small pool on Nalleeghee Creek is a great place to cool off during the warmer months.
Yeranda is 20 minutes drive from Dungog, a charming small country town. In Dungog you'll find plenty of places to dine out - four cafes and a bakery, three pubs, a bowls and RSL club, pizza parlour and a microbrewery. Dungog also has antique stores, art and craft shops, a large IGA supermarket, greengrocers and the James Theatre (a beautiful old cinema). On Saturday mornings the local growers market at the CWA building is an ideal place to buy cheap, fresh locally grown produce, including sourdough and pastries from Fosterton Biodynamic Farm.
Yeranda adjoins Chichester State Forest which has some some lovely places to visit such as Jerusalem Creek Falls, around 20 minutes drive from Elouera. If you wish to explore a little further afield, Blue Gum Loop and Rocky Crossing an hours drive away in the Barrington Tops National Park are excellent bushwalks. You'll see massive, ancient Sydney Blue Gums, giant strangler figs and waterfalls of the headwaters of the Williams River.

Serenity, so much serenity
A gobsmackingly beautiful spot and really accommodating hosts. The view out the window is one you'll never tire of. The fire was going when we arrived Friday evening. Second time there. We'll be back.
Thanks for the great review Matthew - come back soon and try out one of the other cottages!
Perfect Long Weekend
Wonderful stay - started with the delightful gift of fresh homemade bread from our host Ros who was most helpful and accomodating. Loved the outdoor shower, cookout fire and a great bush adventure on the track from the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed for a fantastic holiday.
and what wonderful guests who left our cottage in such fine condition...10 star rating for them!!
