Tucked behind a gorgeous hawthorn hedge with sweeping views directly to Mt Macedon, Hazeldon House is just 10 minutes to Woodend, Trentham or Kyneton. You can feel the fresh country air the moment you step from your car. Do come and stay!
Pretty Hazeldon is light, spacious and stylishly decorated. It has a generous open plan kitchen/living area with double bi-fold doors opening to the verandah overlooking an expansive lawn - with room to kick a footy! Hazeldon is a new build so no creaking floorboards, difficult plumbing or wind whizzing through the cracks!
Enjoy a coffee in the morning sun and a drink at the end of the day watching the big sky sunset. It's such a lovely home to relax after a day exploring the region. Or as one of our guests said 'it's a lovely place to roll a sausage on the barbeque at the end of the day' (don't you love that expression!)
Sleeping up to 6, there are three beautifully presented bedrooms - 2 queen beds and 2 single beds (can be converted to 1 king bed). There are 2 bathrooms one with walk in rainhead shower and toilet and the other with deep bath/shower. There is a separate toilet and a modern laundry.
Settle in and relax in one of the comfortable couches or enjoy a long lazy brunch or dinner at the lovely French Provincial dining table while you plan your next excursion. Light the fire (or turn on the air conditioner!) and with a drink in hand 'cook up a storm' in "the most generously equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly require" as one of our guests described.
You'll find provisions in the walk-in pantry and we'll provide you with a starter kit of tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
The small hamlet of Tylden - at the fork in the road - is 10 minutes to just about EVERYWHERE! It's perfectly located to explore the surrounding towns and tourist attractions. We call it 10 x 10 x 10! We love that it is just 10 minutes to pretty Woodend, or 10 minutes to Kyneton and the famed Pipers Street or 10 minutes to Trentham where a visit to Annie Smithers Du Fermier Restaurant is on so many guest lists (book early!) And the local General Store sells just about everything from papers, to milk, to alcohol, to petrol!
Visit the local wineries, play golf, take a drive to Daylesford or Castlemaine (both about 30 minutes away) visit magnificent Mt Macedon and eerie Hanging Rock (watch the DVD of the movie you'll find in the 'library' before you go) and we'll even tell you which road to travel where you feel you are not going forward or backward! Browse the variety of craft and farmers markets that pop up throughout the region. These are just a few of the pleasures that await your visit to Hazeldon
Please note that there is no WIFI connected so why not take the opportunity to have a real break. Of course you can use your mobile devices with 3G/4G
We love dogs (sadly ours are long departed!) and are happy for you to bring your favourite pet with you - after discussion with us. There is an additional cost of $10 per night per dog. Please note that the property does not have gates or secure fencing at the front of the property.

A world traveller. Former Travel Agent, Event Manager, Business owner and mentor. I live my life by the mantra "The more you look, the more you see. The more you see, the more you look". I've spent the last decade welcoming guests to a cottage around the corner from our property in Melbourne before selling it to buy a country retreat just an hour from Melbourne in the beautiful Macedon Ranges region. Hazeldon House is a home not a house and is now available for us to share with you. So why not come and stay.

Great family place to stay
We loved the homey environment and the lovely fire in the cool nights after being out exploring Trentham and Daylesford. It was a relaxing home not house. This home had everything and we loved it.
What more can I say but thank you so much for your lovely review! Yes it is a home and not a house! I am glad you appreciated it and had a lovely time exploring, relaxing and cooking up a storm! Come again! Spread the word!
Lovely cosy home to relax and chill out in
'Hazeldon House' is such a lovely quiet and cosy home which made it so easy to relax and sit back watching tv, reading books, reading magazines and indulge in a few drinks and indulge good food from local Macedon Ranges. It's great to stay in a place that is self contained and has everything just like home and enjoy home cooked meals in a nice country setting.
Thanx Jan - we be recommending to family and friends to come to 'Hazeldon House' lovely quiet getaway which is only 1hr trip from Melbourne. Tylden is only 10 minutes scenic drive to Trentham, Woodend and Kyneton .
It was lovely to have you stay at Hazeldon. I love guests who love the house and look after it so well! It is special and made more special with appreciative guests. Thankyou for staying and come again!
A perfect house for a perfect weekend.
Myself and a few friends stayed at Hazeldon on the weekend of my wedding in nearby Trentham. The venue exceeded our expectations in every way. Beautifully presented and appointed with everything we needed, Hazeldon was the perfect fit for us. Jan was an absolute pleasure to deal with and could not have been more accomodating. Many thanks from me and my friends.
Thrilled with your review but also with the fact that you really enjoyed Hazeldon. How good you are to post whilst on your honeymoon (if you are having one!!) Many thanks. It was a pleasure to 'work' with you. Come back as a 'married couple' in the future!
We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this home was. Six adults had plenty of room to relax and a lot of thought had gone into the small but important details. Beautiful bedding, a fully stocked kitchen, an abundance of reading material, even torches hanging on every bedroom door. We loved our stay and found the location convenient to all the towns we visited in the area.
Hazeldon an amazing home
Wow! From the moment we enter this beautiful home, we felt welcomed. As we opened the front door, we were greeted to lamps being on, to feeling the warmth of the split system. Once we had lite the fire, we didn't use the split system again. Jan is the perfect hostess, she thought of everything from a well stocked pantry/fridge, to everything one would need to make a holiday perfect. Thank you Jan. Everything was PERFECT.
