Minnie's Yass Valley

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage

About the property

Minnie's is a 1920's house with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated. The house has polished wooden floors throughout with original doors and fireplaces.

The cottage is on the main road in Yass, very close to shops and restaurants but you will get some traffic noise at night. The bedrooms are at the front of the house.

The kitchen has glassware, china and cutlery for your use and is stocked with basic equipment for cooking.

One bedroom has a queen bed and the other a double and a single. Linen and towels are provided.

Minnie's welcomes well behaved pets as long as they know to stay off the furniture. There is a large dog cage in the back garden but the yard is not fenced.

Minnie's is intended to be an 'unplugged' experience, no TV or Wi-Fi! There are books, bluetooth music player, magazines and games, a fantastic park across the road for kids and plenty to do and see. We hope to provide a relaxing getaway with access to local activities and experiences. Yass is surrounded by green hills, farm with sheep, cattle, alpacas and other animals.

About Yass: This region has many wonderful things to see and do: local wineries, arts and crafts, shopping, restaurants and surrounding small towns to visit. Yass is under an hours drive to Canberra and is between Melbourne and Sydney off the Highway.

Great family bonding experience

  • 4 of 5

Minnies in Yass Valley was throughly enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, providing boardgames and having no tv meant we bonded as a family. In this day and age no tv is a bold move but I highly recommend it.

Comfortable & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

It is like home away. There is no TV and WiFi, very relaxing. We had a good break with our dog. Next time we visit Canberra, definitely we will choose Minnie again!

Charming cottage

  • 4 of 5

Minnie’s has a great location close to town and although the occasional truck goes past it didn’t bother us. The best feature of this place is interiors. Carefully chosen vintage furnishings and decor compliment the panelled walls and beautiful decorative ceilings. Thoughtful touches like this can make or break a stay and this little cottage really is sweet. The owner has supplied plenty of towels and linen and there is electric blankets and radiators as well as the main heating. There were some renovations being done out the front which did not make a great first impression but that was quickly overcome once we were inside. Also, although it is dog friendly it is not actually fully fenced so care needs to be taken if your pooch is off leash.

Felt like home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed one night both on our way up to QLD and on our way home. Traffic noise from road was not an issue for our two young children. Didn’t mind that there was no tv as we enjoyed listening to music, playing board games and reading. Everything was clean and we loved all the character of the property.
