The golfettes , 4 couples had a wonderful stay at Stoneleigh. We met Glenda & Peter on arrival who made us so welcome to their holiday home, which was charming, beautifully decorated and after the Canara got pumping the home was cozy and extremely warm. We would highly recommend 4 couples to have a time out weekend in the Daylesford area and experience all that the area has to offer. Fabulous weekend. Thanks Glenda & Peter.
Ros, so pleased to hear that the weekend was such a success for you as the organiser. Whilst playing golf was the motivation for the weekend away, enjoying time together at Stoneleigh as well as the local attractions of which there are plenty makes it that much more memorable. Best regards, Glenda and Peter.
Myself and 3 girlfriends really enjoyed our stay at Stoneleigh. The house and the grounds were immaculate with everything we needed to make our 2 night stay comfortable. We all decided we'd love to return next year.
Positive feedback is uplifting and reassures us that we are "getting it right" - many thanks and hope you enjoyed the selection of movies, especially one of my favourites "A Good Year".
Relaxing & picturesque
Our stay at Stoneleigh was relaxing and easy. The cottage is very well appointed with most of everything we wanted for self-catering. The area was quiet but easily reached from the Ballan-Daylesford Road.
It is ideally positioned for our interest in bush rambling with access to both the eastern and western Great Dividing Trail.
The bushwalking was challenging, going into gullies and high crags, but beautiful and well marked. We discovered that the area has a famous trail called the Three Lost Children trail that Stoneleigh straddles - so we could head off each morning for another part of the trail.
We loved being able to pull some onions and beetroot for dinner, and cut some roses for the living room.
Our only hesitation was that there was no undercover parking, although plenty of room for cars.
Sue and Bill, many thanks for your positive feedback - our first guests with a keen interest in "bush rambling". So pleased that by your reports the four bush trails walked, whilst varied in the "challenge" required; were beautiful, well marked and easily accessible from Stoneleigh. Also glad to hear that you enjoyed our seasonal plantings and summer rose garden - a little "added extra" we hoped would be valued! Look forward to hosting another visit in the future!
What a comfortable place!
Wonderfully spacious, very clean, lovely decoration, excellent communication with owners.
Five minutes drive from Daylesford town center the house sits a nice distance away from the main road and is surrounded by meadows. The kids enjoyed commoooonicating with the cows across the fence...
The layout of the property is perfect for two families with kids. Combine this with a super efficient wood stove in the generous living area and a huuuge dining table and you are in for a very relaxing experience.
Five starts for cleanliness!
From the way the property presents itself you get the feeling that it is being maintained with pride.
Thank you again Glenda for making our special weekend such a pleasant experience!
So pleased to receive such a positive review - Peter and I are so happy to hear that your really enjoyed your celebratory weekend at Stoneleigh with family and friends and that the children enjoyed commooonicating with our neighbours cows! It is so rewarding to have our efforts appreciated! We look forward to hosting you again in the future!
We booked Stoneleigh for a girls long weekend. The interior is decorated elegantly, the ambiance of the fireplace drew us in each evening and the peaceful setting of the property had us out and enjoying the crisp air in the morning. The property had everything provided for a beautiful and comfortable stay. We'll be back again soon.
It was an absolute pleasure to host the ladies from Tenterfield and Sydney. Many thanks for looking after Stoneleigh during your stay and I trust the visit to Paul Bangay's "Stonefields" was all you hoped. Look forward to your next visit!
Beautiful spot lovely property relaxing and the house was fully catered
Dear Kellie, Many thanks for your favourable review as well as your efforts to ensure Stoneleigh was left as it was found. Warmest regards and hope we have the opportunity to host you, Les and your extended families again! Glenda Shaw.
