A little bit about Bridgetown

BRIDGETOWN

One of the most picturesque towns in Western Australia, Bridgetown sits against a backdrop of the beautiful Blackwood River Valley and oozes old world country charm. It also serves a taste of the good life in generous portions, with wineries, delicious fresh produce, arts, crafts and stunningly scenic drives.

You can escape the city to this quiet country life in under three hours by road and wake up to valleys filled with morning mist and tranquil forests.

The centre of a thriving timber, mining and farming district, Bridgetown is a prolific producer of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and olives, not to mention wine and cider. You can indulge in some of its flavours in the region's cafes, restaurants and cellar doors and cidery.

Many artists are drawn to the area, finding their inspiration in the Blackwood River Valley landscapes and exhibiting their work in local galleries.

Action and adventure are in abundance too, with a network of canoeing/kayaking, walking, mountain biking and bridle trails to choose from.

The town also hosts many events, including the ever-popular Blues at Bridgetown Festival, attracting world-class musicians and large crowds to the region every November.

Art and Craft, Mountain Biking, Birdwatching, Canoeing, Golfing, Horseriding, Kayaking, Lessons/Tutorials, Meditating, Shopping, Swimming, Tennis, Animal Viewing, Self-Guided, Bushwalking, Wine Tasting

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location and the house. Very relaxing sitting on the porch gazing over the lake. The house was clean, modern and very spacious. The enclosed front and backyards were brilliant for the dogs. wonderful location - nice and quiet but only 5 minutes to town. Our only problem was that with two adult kids, one had to sleep in a single bed (2nd bedroom had a double bed) and that was a bit short and uncomfortable for them - but for families with younger kids wouldn't be a problem.

Reflections House by the Lake - Bridgetown

  • 4 of 5

The location and view was perfect everything as described close to town but most importantly lots of peace and quiet. The house has been updated with a new kitchen and bathrooms, unfortunately the main bathroom was out of action which was a little in conveyance having to share the master bedroom ensuite with other guests. There are a few maintenance issues which wouldn’t take much to fix, we are keen to return but would hope that some of these issues would be addressed to make the property more comparable with other Stayz listed properties in the area, and yes we would recommend the location to friends.

Owner's Response: We are sorry about the bathroom issues, however we did inform you beforehand and the alternative was to cancel the booking. It is difficult to get tradesman to remote country towns. The main bathroom is fully functional now. We are not aware of the "small maintenance issues" you have mentioned here but you haven't detailed them to us personally, please send me an email to let me know what these issues are. We would love to have stay again and are always trying to improve our guests experience.
