Yarra Ranges Cosy Mountain Retreat is a 17 acre property adjoining the Yarra Ranges National Park and the O’Shannassy Aqueduct walking / cycling trail. Accommodation is in a beautifully designed mud brick cottage: Red Earth Cottage - for your exclusive use.

The cottage is self-contained, with two open plan bedrooms (one downstairs and one upstairs) each with a very comfortable queen sized bed. There is a lounge area, dining space, kitchen, and bathroom, with a shower and a separate bath. Cooking facilities include: a slow combustion oven; electric hot plates; a microwave oven; a small bench top convection oven, barbeque, toaster, kettle, fridge and a range of cooking utensils, glassware, crockery and cutlery.

You can prepare meals for yourself in the cottage, or take a 10 minute drive to Warburton, with its many delightful cafes and restaurants. It is also an easy drive to the wonderful wineries / restaurants / galleries that can be found in the Yarra Valley.

The cottage is set in a lovely and peaceful garden, with abundant birdlife and spectacular views of the mountain. The space is very conducive to meditation, yoga, the creative arts – or just reading a novel and regenerating. For film buffs, there is an extensive and much appreciated DVD collection.

Yarra Ranges Cosy Mountain Retreat is well suited to couples wanting to leave the stress of the city behind, yoga practitioners and artists seeking a peaceful and picturesque space in nature, cyclists and bushwalkers wanting to enjoy the lovely forest trails, and families for fun times together connecting with the serenity of nature.

The cottage is ideal for 2 adults or a small family. Children, no more than 2, stay for free. It is not suitable for 4 adults.

Due to the wildlife around the property, unfortunately we cannot allow any cats or dogs to stay with you as guests.

Your resident host, Paul, lives in a separate house on the property and is available during your stay should you require anything. The cottage has private parking and access.

Bliss

  • 5 of 5

Was such a pleased staying here, the mud brick cottage cosy, we’ll equipped and has super comfy beds. Paul was an amazing host and the little attention to detail like fresh flowers in each room was such a treat. Just the right distance out of town to feel private and secluded without feeling isolated.

A great escape!

  • 5 of 5

This was the escape from the city we needed! Paul was a wonderful host; taking the time to give us a tour of the property and advice on the local area. The house itself was very comfortable and cozy for a winter weekend.

Lovely comfortable cottage, beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cosy Mountain Retreat. Paul was a very welcoming and informative host who gave us great tips on walking and other activities nearby. The large tree-fern-adorned property gave us a sense of serenity and the kids loved feeding the different species of parrots in the morning. Many Thanks Paul, we'd love t come again! Russell

We had such a great time at Cozy Retreat. a lovely, cozy house with huge field (and the national park) for kids to run around and explore. Our kids loved looking for wombat holes. Great location for exploring the area. Paul was a great host, he gave us great suggestions where to go etc. Thank you for your hospitality Paul. We will definitely be back!
