Why Samantha Hull chose Harrietville
We bought this property as we love to escape to the country. We fell in love with this very pretty part of North East Victoria as there is just so much to see and do and yet you can also do very little and relax and enjoy the serenity too. We love it because it is a great place to visit all year too. Summer is great as you get to enjoy the river at our back door or go to the local water swimming hole - Tronoh Lake. kids love it! The big swing and pontoon. Bring all your big oversized inflatables and have a big lounge on the water. Autumn and Spring are beautiful with the all colours of the seasons. There so many events and festivals to suit everyone's favourite interest or hobby too. Winter is great to cosy up by the fire and go skiing at Mt Hotham which is only 40minutes away. Also, as keen cyclists we love all the cycling options on tap, plus great bush walking, adventurous 4wd to enjoy and really get out in the bush. Then the choices of food, wineries, bars and great coffee in the whole area is excellent. The local pubs are great with friendly locals, yummy foods and live music too. Everyone who comes loves it. Never had a guest live not wanting to come back again.

Fabulous location right on Ovens River, and excellent property if travelling with dogs (although not fenced).

Large and comfortable property
Great location to get to the snow or to take off on a day trip. House is large, great heating and plenty of room. Manager of home was excellent. Very quiet, beautiful spot backing onto the Ovens River. Only 4 Adults and one baby in our group but would be suitable for a bigger family group. Is an older home with some renovations done, provided a very comfortable stay. Owners had thought of everything you might need, kitchen was very well equipped. Thank you we look forward to being able to come back hopefully next year!
Thank you so much for your comments Jill. You and your family are welcome back to OvensDale any time. Hope we see you next year! Cheers Lisa
A quiet spot in a quiet town
We all really enjoyed our stay at this property. Overall we were impressed with the size and how many people it could sleep. Great heating (and I assume cooling) with a pleasant walk out the back to the river it was a picturesque place to be.
Only things worth mentioning is the 20 minutes to Bright is the closest we will get to shops, but on the upside we are all the closer to Mt Hotham.
We really enjoyed our stay at OvensDale. The property was presented beautifully and was well resourced.
Thanks for your feedback Andrew. We look forward to you and your crew staying again.
Great Property !
We very much enjoyed our stay at the OvensDale. Every little detail was taken care of. The place is specious and great location (20 min from Bright). House manager was very friendly and helpful.
Thank you so much for your comments Naama. You and your family are welcome back to OvensDale at any time. Cheers Lisa
