Things to Do....

Sorrento/Blairgowrie is on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula a 1 hour and 15mins drive south east from the Melbourne CBD.

Once at the house it is only a few minutes drive to the historic township of Sorrento where there is an abundance of cafes, pubs, day spas and shopping options. Portsea Village is a further 5 minute drive along the coast.

The area is surrounded by magnificent beaches, ranging from calm shallow and clear waters in the bay (for swimming, kayaking and sailing) to exquisite turquoise rockpools (perfect for snorkeling) along the ocean beaches to some of the best surf beaches in Victoria, at Portsea and Gunnamatta. Diving and fishing are popular seaside activities in the area with a number of diving and fishing charters available.

If you enjoy golf then there are numerous championship courses for your enjoyment in the area. Tennis courts are available to hire.

A visit to the Red Hill wine region will take 15-20 minutes by car. Here you can visit a myriad of wineries and taste world famous pinot noir and chardonnay wines. There are also magnificent restaurants and al fresco dining options in and around Red Hill. A number of spa resorts are located in the area. Saturday Farmer's Markets are also a feature of Red Hill and the Peninsula.

From Sorrento you can take a ferry (on foot or with a car) across the bay (30 minutes) to explore the charming seaside town of Queenscliff. This also provides access to the south west coast of Victoria, including the Great Ocean Road.

Let down in one area to leave disappointed.

This a lovely looking beach house located in a terrific location within easy walking distance of front and back beach. The family room with great kitchen and comfortable couch was great to share with family. Our disappointment came with the fact that we had booked with the option of linen/ towels being supplied and my expectation wasn't met. The linen was very scrunched up and one bed was messy like a teenagers room, one bed had dirty linen with hair on it (not sure if human or dog) and there weren't towels. I did contact the owner who said he'd organise cleaner to bring more towels. Even then there still wasn't a bath towel per person and he did apologise for the linen situation. We didn't want it to wreck our weekend but the next morning things got worse. The Queen bed in the front room had a urine smell that kept my uncle awake all night. The next day we had to remove the old mattress topper and protector, wash the dooner cover, dooner and all the nightware. How this could happen I don't know? Our disappointment as a group, as regular travellers was more how it was handled. We stayed polite throughout but given such a terrible experience I would have thought appropriate compensation and an apology would have been suitable. It is sad because it is a great property. I guess we haven't been assured of an improvement so couldn't take the chance on going back. If you are going to book perhaps just get some assurance these matters have been corrected but it is a lovely house.

Excellent property!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A very modern house which accommodated to all our needs. The kitchen supplied a range of equipment and also staples.

Highly recommended. And we look forward to staying again in the near future.

Perfect beach escape

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed for the weekend with our 2 young children, and the house was perfect for us. The seperate TV and games room was great for our 7 yr old, and walking to the back beach the highlight at this time of year. Right on the Sorrento border so we were minutes away from all the shops, cafes and restaurants. Oh and the most beautfiful recycled timber dining table ever! We look forward to staying again in the summer. The price is great for such a lovely location.
