Just Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Hi Louise,

Just a short message to thank you once again for our stay at your Studio 8. We had a very enjoyable, peaceful and relaxing time. We only used the car to visit Queenscliff and Ocean Grove, as it was only a short and pleasant walk to the beach and shops. And thank you for letting me store my kayak in such safe place - I could just wheel it to the beach to catch some (small) waves or paddle over the marine park. Carol managed to finally start and finish the book she has wanted to read for a few years, and I got halfway through mine (probably too much time spent paddling!).

Wonderfully located studio apartment. Everything you need is supplied, comfy bed and so close to the beach but no traffic noise. Which is a bonus. Had a very relaxing weekend.

Why bother to stay in a motel room!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely relaxing time-out in this little studio, convenient to beach, walks and shops in a very quiet neighbourhood. It was comfortable and well fitted out. Good heating, good shower and a very comfortable bed.

However, it would have been even better if there are curtains in the lounge. We did feel very exposed and vulnerable. The kitchen table and stools were not really appropriate; a proper dining table and chairs would be better. Finally, it can yet be improved another notch by having a proper kitchenette with a cooking top. It was too discouraging to wake up in the cold wee hours of the morning and to go outside to use the BBQ to cook a proper breakfast.

Notwithstanding the above observations and suggestions for improvement, we would still recommend it as a really nice place to chill out.

Wonderfully comfortable stay!

Thank you, Louise, for allowing us to stay at your terrific studio apartment. We thought the facilities were great and will definitely return in the future. The apartment is both spacious and very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were, in fact, sorry to leave!

With best wishes, Mike & Hilary Smith

Other Activities:

Nestled in a quiet court in old Point Lonsdale, studio @ 8 offers leafy privacy just moments from the front beach, village coffee shops and eateries. Take the cliff top walk to the lighthouse and enjoy magnificent views across the Rip and beyond to Cape Schank. Look west to take in the vista across the back beach to Barwon Heads. Keep a sharp eye out for the local dolphins and seals but you can't miss the big ships as they come through Port Philip heads. Chat with the fishermen on the pier - what are they catching today? If the tide's low, check out the rock pools to see what you can see - often there are sea stars, anemones and lots of turban snails. Did you bring your snorkel & flippers? There are interesting fish under the pier and lots of different kinds of sea weed - You'll be amazed by the colours.

Up for a longer walk? Start out along the beach towards Queenscliff. Takes a bit over an hour if you don't stop for too many swims on the way. Lots to see and do when you get there - galleries, sophisticated shopping, historic buildings, ice cream, coffee, more coffee, more ice cream.... craft beer, fine wine and dining and of course the world's best fish and chips.
