Great spot for a crew, beautiful vista's, responsive host

  • 5 of 5

Vladimir was very helpful and this is a good spot to bring a bunch of people together. When it says it sleeps 40, that's with every queen/king bed having double occupancy, and most rooms would have multiple beds per room full of couples so take that into consideration when planning. I mean, if you are planning a swinger's party like the house next door was while we were there, that's probably ideal. We had a bachelor party, but it wasn't weird at all because we had only about 26 guys, and didn't all try to cram into the hot tub, steam or dry sauna's all at once (which a swingers party might attempt, but i'm totally throwing darts here i've never been invited to one... hint if you are reading this!). Anywhoo.... It's right on the mountain if you are there during ski season (or just a couple minutes drive or walk anyway). Worth it if you're looking for a place to host in the Truckee region.

I love this place!

  • 5 of 5

This was the second year we stayed at this property. We are a group of coworkers (around 30 people) that came up to Tahoe to ski and relax. There was enough room for all of us to sleep. The kitchen was great for cooking big meals. Obviously our highlight was enjoying the steam room and hot tub. I loved sleeping in the Tahoe Suite and waking up to the gorgeous view. The property owner is very friendly and answered all the questions I had. There were no problems and everything was clean and functional. Would definitely recommend this stay and I hope to return!

Beautiful home for family gatherings

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year I have booked the North Tahoe Lodge during spring break. We are from Houston, but my husband's family is from the Bay area so this location is great for our gatherings. Cousins, brothers, grandparents and aunt's and uncles's drop in during our stay. The house is large enough to contain everyone at one time or the wandering in and out that normally occurs. The house fabulous. We arrived this year during a snow storm. The plow service was out within a day to clear the driveway and two days for the decks. The property accommodates all activities. The gathering rooms are great to spend time together and the vastness of the space and activities allows the clan to break into smaller groups for their time.

Thank you,

Susie Magnuson

This home was great!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group between the ages if 5-55 and everyone enjoyed this home. The snow was coming down pretty hard over the weekend and we almost missed our group lessons, but with everything thus home offered we could have stayed all day and had plenty to do right there on the property. The drive way is long but there is no parking on the street. There us free parking down the hill which works out great. I would recommend this home to anyone with a big group and areas for all ages. All of the rooms are a nice size and the bunk beds are full not twin which makes a big difference. The owner responded to my questions immediately and made our stay memorable. Once you look our at the view you won't want to leave.

Great for Intimate Wedding

  • 4 of 5

PROS-great views, hosts at least 38 (couldnt figure out the pull out beds for sure), close to skiing, SPA IS AWESOME! Wedding was gorgeous and perfect for under 40 people!

CONS-not enough towels (if it hosts for 40, you should have at least 40 towels...NOT 27!), and snow was not removed from any of the decks. That was a huge hindrance, as it was removed from the neighbor's decks. Also, you need 4 wheel drive to get up the road if snowy, and you cant park on the street.

ROOMS- Here are the specifics and nice-to-knows of the room setup. TAHOE Suite-King bed (comfy) with huge en suite. We used this as the bridal suite, but it is on the main floor directly off of the main room, and so it could be quite loud if people were in the main room or kitchen at all. HIDEAWAY-king bed with full bunk beds. We had couples bunk together in the fulls, and it was fine. The room is in a little nook by itself above the main room, with windows looking out over the main room, so it also can be quite loud. Downstairs, below the main level: NORTHSTAR Suite is a king en suite connected by a little hallway to the DONNER Suite ( Northstar is way more quiet than the POLO suite across the room). DONNER has a King bed and full bunks, and a bathroom. The Polo bar is on this level, as well as the spa and hot tub (outside). The POLO suite is next to the bar, so sound carries a bit (ok, a lot). Keep that in mind! It is lovely with a huge bathroom and fireplace. Down the next level (there are 3 levels of the main house and LOTS of stairs!!), there is a pool table in the main area. Off to the right is the RIVERSIDE suite, which has a king bed, and TWO sets of full bunk beds. We had 8 people staying in this room-so it was tight, but doable. On the left side of the pool room is the BLACKROCK suite, which has a king and one full bunk. Across from that is the movie room, which people could definitely sleep in, as well (On the floor or couch). All the way back upstairs, and UP the main steps leading to the driveway (the house is at a lower level), is the INNKEEPER suite above the garage. This suite is completely separate from the house, so extremely quiet and private. It has a little kitchen and some reading chairs and a crib nook, and also a King bed and a full bunk.

Owner's Response: The property was rented during what was a record breaking storm in Truckee. We have a contract for clearing decks with a service, however they were all out plowing driveways and the decks could not be cleared until after the storm. We are located in Tahoe Donner with regular snow clearing by both Town of Truckee and Tahoe Donner Association, and we have guests regularly use cars with chains to get up to the property, but during a major storm, like this where highway 80 was even closed, you would need a all wheel drive vehicle. We supply towels for all the guests, including bathing towel, hand towels and small towels. Each bedroom has 5 towels that are rolled as well as additional towels located in the spa center. This group requested additional towels and we had our cleaning service drop them off the following day, (once the majority of the storm passed and road were open).

Lovely space for large crowds

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated my partner's 50th birthday and the lodge was perfect! The views were lovely. Every room was wonderful and there was a lot of space. My only issue was that there was not enough cookware. Not a baking sheet in the place!
