Overview

About the property

Situated two minutes off the Princes Highway (half way between Nowra to the north, and the charming village of Milton to the south). Finchley B&B offers 2.5 acres of lightly treed rural land with delightful views including wallabies grazing nearby.

We have a dog-proof fenced yard connected to the rear of the cottage, and at the front, 2 acres of secure open space where dogs or children can have a good run around to let off steam after a long trip in the car.

An additional QS bedroom and full bathroom (shower over bath) can be made available for larger groups, or used as a small separate unit with separate entrance (sub to negotiation).

The Shoalhaven region has become famous for many quality wineries, some with their own restaurants, and some offering jazz events, local exhibitions etc, as well as many quality restaurants and cafes including the world renowned Rick Stein's at Bannisters, in Mollymook, and weekend markets, galleries and museums.

Very conveniently situated within 20 minutes' driving distance of many beautiful Shoalhaven/Jervis Bay beaches, National Parks and bushwalking trails, also Wandandian rainforest and Wandandian Creek, waterfalls and lookouts, such as George Boyd Lookout and Granite Falls. The Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay coast offers many popular fishing spots, and surfing beaches and bays (many, dog-friendly), and dolphin-and whale-watching cruises.

The cottage also features some original artworks of local Jervis Bay beaches, available to purchase as a souvenir, also beach bags featuring a choice between three Jervis Bay views.

WANDANDIAN:

Located at the centre of the Shoalhaven, Wandandian village was first established as a postal district in 1860, and has a rich history. The village takes its name from the Wandandian people, the traditional owners of much of the region. The Aboriginal meaning of 'Wandandian' (originally Wandrawandian) is 'home of lost lovers'.

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Terrific, peaceful, relaxing setting. We couldn't have asked for more. Bronwyn's hospitality and attention to detail is second to none. Perfect place for a dog friendly getaway, our Greyhound, Tricky loved exploring the extensive yard, and meeting some new doggy friends. We will definitely be back, and would recommend Finchleys B&B to everyone looking for a home away from home just to unwind and recharge the batteries.

Best Dog Friendly Bed and Breakfast

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many dog friendly accommodation over the past year and this is by far the best

The unit itself was clean and tidy and the attention to detail unbelievable

The units have great fenced areas which your dog is free to roam in and there are connecting gates which enable your pooch to play with the one next door (if that is appropriate)

Breakfast on the front porch in the morning sun was just a gorgeous way to start the day

Bronwyn has provided lots of extras in relation to food which we really appreciated and the breakfast provisions were excellent

We cannot recommend this property highly enough - just excellent

Perfect for both owner and pet stays

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and felt very welcomed by our hosts Bronwyn and Geoff, Louie and Darcy. The accommodation was excellent and the field in front of the deck was ideal for doggies to play and explore. I was most impressed by the attention to detail and the summery beach style decor. We were very happy with our stay and can't wait to return.

Relaxation and.comfort for you and your dog!

  • 5 of 5

Had the pleasure of staying for 9 days with our lovely puppy Peg

5 minutes from the highway and.only 15 minutes from the tourist hot spots with the added bonus of a real rural laid back feel, it was an excellent base for our holiday.

The accomadation was awesome with everything we needed. - Comfy bed ++, hot shower, very clean and tidy, lots of breaky supplies and all the usual mod cons of an outstanding B&B.

Bronwyn is a real animal lover and understands the needs of you snd your dog.

Even supplies bowls, towels and some treats for your best friend

Dog proof fench and plenty of room to burn off steam as well

Her little cavalier kinig charles spaniels were the perfect hosts - My pup took a real shine to them.

Hope to visit again soon with my elderley parents as it is suitable for them as well

A big thank you and lovely to meet you and your puppies

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Ruth. It was a pleasure having you all here, and Peg (the Staffie x Mastiff) was also a lovely guest: very quiet, well-behaved both indoors (with her special bed) and out, and much admired by my pups as well. I hope circumstances favour that return visit with your parents soon, you know you will all be very welcome back. All the best, until next time. Bronwyn

Great overnight stay for humans and dog

  • 5 of 5

I came with my master and his girlfriend. We had a wonderful time.

Bronwyn the lovely owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a big front yard for me and even a smaller one out the back. They were both very secure so I didn't go wandering off.

The house was very nice and warm. They had good beds. I had a good sleep too. The kitchen had lots of yummy stuff including some dog food for me! The humans had a goid time playing Scrabble and watching tv.

We can't wait to go back again.
