Charming but very cold!
We visited in winter, and were pretty disappointed by the lack of heating. There is one split system heater/cooler in the living room but that's it. We searched for electric heaters, hot water bottles etc but nothing to be found. The wood fire heater was effective but took hours to warm up, and obviously needs timber added frequently, so gets cold overnight. The warmth from the fire didn't really reach the bedroom either, so a hot water bottle would have been really nice!
The bed itself was extremely soft and there were plenty of blankets. I think it's a wire trampoline style bed base, and it's so soft that an electric blanket isn't suitable.
The bathtub is lovely and deep, perfect for a soak at the end of the day.
I imagine this place would be lovely in warmer weather, with the deck and BBQ looking particularly inviting.
One thing that I didn't realise from the ad was that this cottage adjoins to the one next door (also a holiday rental) through a door in the bedroom. Just FYI.
Honestly for the price, I think you can do better in winter time.
Thanks for your feedback Lauren, we just wanted to clarify that the cottage is not adjoined to the property next door, there is a wall behind that door in the bedroom, so no way to access the property next door. Further, the property next door is not currently a holiday rental. Regards, Belinda Cook Holiday Property Management Devlin Beechworth
Beware of the iron lace at the corner of the porch. It is at head height and my husband walked into it often because he wasn't expecting it to be there.
Thank you for your feedback, the iron lace has since been removed.
Charming well equipped cottage but very difficult to heat anything but the lounge room on a cold day. Short walk to the heart of Beechworth.
The wood fire is wonderful for creating a cozy lounge room but we also find the split system air conditioner works well to heat and cool the rest of the house well.
Great couples getaway
Lovely cottage, excellent location to enjoy all Beechworth has to offer
