'LOVED LOVED LOVED this place. Such a beautiful house with a awesome location on top of the mountain. The owners have created a GEM of a place. The house is beautiful on the inside and so homey feeling. We just relaxed and took in the views for the whole week we truly felt relaxed and hated to get back to the hustle and bustle of home. Our 4 teenagers never complained one time that they were bored which is amazing. Loved picking blackberries every morning and having a camp fire every night. The road leading to the house is quite an adventure but so worth it. All of us said that we would go back in a heart beat wished we had stayed two weeks instead of one. PS ..The dogs even look sad to be home they loved the freedom of roaming the property in the day. Thanks for sharing this place with us it was as close to HEAVEN as it gets!!!'

'We had a wonderful extended family get-together at the Hilltop Hideaway. There were beautiful panoramic views from every side of this comfortable cabin. It felt like home, but better. Watching the sunrise over the mountains from the hot tub was breath taking. Everyone pitching in to cook the meals in the spacious kitchen was fun. Relaxing, going for afternoon walks, napping in the hammock, and rocking on the front porch were just what we all needed. It was nice to laugh, 'catch up' and reminisce in such a beautiful setting. The kids loved 'Camp Skybunk'. It was almost like their own personal apartment. They made memories picking blackberries, roasting marshmallows by the campfire pit, wading in the Watauga River, and trying to choose their favorites at the Mast General Store's Candy Barrel. We had a great vacation that we all will cherish for a lifetime. This is a private cabin, with a peaceful atmosphere, in the most beautiful area of the NC mountains. We Highly recommend the Hilltop Hideaway.'

'We truly enjoyed our mountain vacation! Our boys enjoyed the mountain fun too. Your 'yard' was so much fun for all of us. We took long walks around your area and enjoyed the special spots around it. The timing was perfect with the Mast General Store Festival and the Wolly Worm Festival. On Grandfather Mountain we enjoyed 'high adventures' for the whole family.'
'Our wonderful week in the mountains went by way too fast! The location of your beautiful cabin was so peaceful and private. I can't remember when we have slept so well! What an incredible view from the hot tub!
You have graciously provided everything for a perfect mountain vacation! Thank you for sharing your treasure with our family - we would love to come back!!'

From out guestbook:
"Such a wonderful, peaceful setting for a weekend away with friends. Love the VIEW!! And a great, invigorating walk down to the 'Hollar' and back up. After that and all the hiking near Linville Falls, I am satisfyingly sore!
Much peace & love"
I was very happy with our stay. We were surprised at the road leading up to the house.
My wife and I have stayed at Hilltop Hideaway twice now. We have had an excellent experience both times. The moutain views are great and you have plenty of privacy . It's very quiet with no other cabins close. You are close to Grandfather moutain, Boone, Downtown Banner Elk, waterfalls, Beech Mountain, mast general store and much more. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows. There is a washer and dryer that works great also. My sister came to visit and drove her Toyota Prius up the gravel road that leads to the cabin without any problems. My wife went to town a couple time's and I stayed at the cabin and just soaked up the views from the porch. There is satellite TV and a fireplace. Our First stay in Dec we used the fireplace with the provided wood. It was so nice to have a fire going. Come fall time we will go back for our third stay. It's a great cabin in a great location. Great place for groups of any kind. We had a girls trip to remember with lots of laughs (and smores) by the bonfire, delicious meals cooked together in the wonderfully stocked kitchen. We hiked in the surrounding areas, visited the mast General Store and shopped around in downtown Boone. The beds are soo comfortable and the views are incredible! Definitely going to make this an annual trip! Next time we plan on hitting the slopes that are near by. Thank u so much Kevin and Deb! We will be back for sure!!
My college friends/spouses and my husband and I try to get together once a year...normally at the beach. But this year we decided to do something different and could not have found a better location! The house, porch, hottub, and firepit was PERFECT!! We had an awesome time and we will cherish the memories made!
Good morning! It's Monday, and we are recalling the wonderful week spent in your lovely Hilltop Hideaway home! Every member of our hiking team praised us for finding the very best place for enjoying God's beautiful world. The plants around the house - especially the blueberries that were beginning to ripen - were lovely and reminded me that your choices were the same that we have in our garden and yard. Deer proof and beautiful, especially the butterfly bushes. We saw bunnies, and heard the songs of many birds, enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets and even found the two showers and one thunderstorm refreshing!
Thank you both for sharing - our names are in the Guest Book but I couldn't resist writing to let you know how pleasant our week was. We hiked around the AT near Banner Elk, the Moses Cone and Julian Price Blue Ridge Parkway parks. Even walking down Daisy Lane to see the cattle and donkey was exciting - the donkey he-hawed and rushed to the fence to discover us and find we are a harmless bunch of hikers .
Debra and Kevin, thanks for the little amenities and comforts that were included in our stay. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Independence Day celebration!
This place is amazing! Spent memorial day weekend there with 7 of my friends. It was perfect! Hottub, outdoor fire spot, and plently of sleeping spots. Don't miss this place. Note that you want to take a car that can get up a steep gravel drive up to the TOP of the mountain. Also lots of poison ivy around where you can get wood, be careful. Very close to downtown Boone, very convenient. We will be going back!
