About Billy Sinaplidis
My love and desire for the water started in my childhood years, growing up on the South Shore of Long Island. The water inspires me in every which way, and I knew that I always wanted my own piece of waterfront paradise. My professional background is in Real Estate - I own and am responsible for dozens of rentals across the NYC metro area. After traveling outside of the U.S., which include destinations in Europe, South America & Caribbean, I decided to take all of my experience and passion to pursue my dream on the beautiful island of St. Thomas.

point pleasant with a renovated studio
we enjoyed this unit’s large patio/balcony and great decor. bed was very comfortable and they accommodated my extra pillow request. there was coffee, oil, salt and pepper for us to use for cooking. this unit is a small studio with an open feel but not much room for luggage. the area is beautiful with nature paths connecting pools and restaurants (which are fantastic). although we enjoy the exercise and beauty, you must be able to go up and down steps and hills. thanks billy for the nice accommodations!
Not for me
Overall I guess I had set my expectations too high and had not done my homework. Yes, it is a beautiful location and the pictures were accurate. Had I known the path to the unit was treacherous I would have opted for a different property. FYI just don’t arrive in the dark, especially in the dark and raining or you’re in for a real treat. Steps of wet rock overgrown with weeds and thorns catching your clothes as you try to hold your phone flashlight with one hand ( no path lighting) while juggling your luggage and grabbing the railing that has been labeled as not safe to use. So we made it to the unit and had difficulty opening the key box. I called the front desk and they informed me that the unit is private and I would have to call the owner. I attempted to contact the owner but didn’t have much luck. After calling back to the desk they finally sent someone to help us get into our unit. The unit does have a comfortable bed although I must have missed the description about it being a studio unit. The picture of the bed is accurate, but there is no “bedroom”. Some of the reviews described the bathroom floor as being painful to walk on with bare feet. It is a beautiful floor, but does hurt your feet. We had to slip on sandals before entering the bathroom. In defense of this property the pictures are all accurate and the overall place is beautiful. The people that work there are very friendly and the food at the restaurant is good. The times depicted in the description: one minute here, 5 five minutes there are probably for a person that’s in much better shape than me. I would not recommend staying here if you have any type of disability requiring handicap accessible needs.
Billy was very accommodating and helpful! The resort was located on a beautiful part of the island. Beaches are in walking distance and a short drive to Red Hook for great restaurants and ferry. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in the future.
Not up to expectations..
There was a confusion with a guest issue, when we made the search we searched for 3 guests but reservation was only made for 2, so we texted owner about the 3rd party and never received response, when arrived condo was set up for 2 people after some communication with owner we got the stuff for the 3rd guest. We figured it will all be ok after that.
Well not really. The shower floor is extremely painful. I would definitely change it. Also the air conditioning is horrible for the condo, does not cool as expected and on top of that it leaked all over the pull out couch which was where the 3rd guest was sleeping we thought about contacting owner to notify because maybe they didn’t know but when we looked there was a bucket there to collect all the water so obviously issue is known.
View is not as great as expected. Me and my fiancé stayed at the same resort in May but in a different condo and we had those same expectations but definitely did not meet them.
Beautifully renovated room, great property and things you need to know!
I Stayed at Point Pleasant many years ago and loved it so much that I didn't even consider staying anywhere else on this return trip to St Thomas. My husband and I stayed in room E-10 which was beautifully renovated with a VERY comfortable bed. The room is exactly as pictured in this listing, we were very pleased. This truly a beautiful property and we really enjoyed hiking through the nature paths and trails. The pools are situated overlooking the ocean and surrounding islands which is not only gorgeous but completely relaxing.
About the owner, Billy:
We had a couple questions for Billy and texted him. He immediately called me back and was very helpful. - Thank you!
He sent his welcome letter to us about 6 weeks before our stay and then again the week before. We greatly appreciated that because I couldn't find where I filed the first letter.
Note about the Point Pleasant Resort vs Independent Owners:
There is a "political" divide by the resort owner/employees and the Independent owners which relates to services provided by the resort. If you did not book directly through the resort website, they are unwilling to help you with anything. Example: My husband and I walked up to the lobby to ask for a cab to Red Hook. I asked them to call for a cab, they asked me which room I was staying in which I gave them my room number. The employee went and looked something up and said "you didn't book with the resort so I can't help you". He instead gave me a slip of paper of taxi's I could call myself.
*** This type of scenario happened several times throughout our stay. BUT - DO NOT let this deter you from renting from Billy or other Independent owners through VRBO.
When we got home, we did a little research and this is what we found:
1 - The cost of the room per night is much less expensive on VRBO than booking through the resort.
2- Rent a car so that you can come and go as you please and do not have to rely on taxi's which are expensive.
So, if you book through VBRO and rent a car, you will have a lot more freedom and money in your pocket!
Finally, We will definitely stay here again and book Billy's condo. We will rent a car next time so we have all the freedom to move throughout the resort and the island as we please. This is still my favorite place on the island and look forward to coming back next year. Thanks again Billy!
