Ballyshannon is a lovely, fully furnished waterfront cottage located on the road to the Glenora Ferry and is very near Lake on the Mountain facing Picton Bay. We have 4 bedrooms, one of which is below grade with a walkout to a small deck. This room is not suitable for small children or anyone with physical limitations as it is accessed by descending a spiral staircase. The Master bedroom is upstairs and has a queen size bed and features a Juliet Balcony and fireplace for added ambiance. The second bedroom is also on the second story and has twin beds. The third bedroom is on the main level next to the full bathroom and has a double bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a stack-able washer and dryer on the main level for your use. The combined Living Room and Dining room run the full width of the house and enjoy a full water view. There is a gas fireplace in the Living room and patio doors to a full deck with propane barbeque and patio furniture. There is an outdoor fireplace; please ensure that there is not a 'no burn' restriction in force.
We will supply your linens, bedding, pillows and bath towels.The tap water comes from a shore well and is filtered through a UV system however it is not advisable to drink it. Please bring bottled water. There is a small library of books and games for rainy days.
Weekly rentals only from Saturday to Saturday during July and August.

Friends introduced me to the County in the '90's and while visiting, often drove by the cottage. I had fallen in love with the County during my visits there and when the opportunity arose to purchase a property, I couldn't resist. It is just as spectacular in the fall, winter and spring as during the summer, and I enjoy all seasons there.

It is nicely located near the Glenora Ferry which is part of the Ontario highway system, and I often take the ferry to the 'other side' to enjoy the waterfront drive into Kingston and beyond.
The lot size is 10,000 sq ft and is directly on the waterfront which has some spectacular views and amazing sunsets. It is close to town, Lake on the Mountain, wineries, a selection of restaurants for all tastes, plenty of seasonal festivals, and of course, Sandbanks Beach!
This is potentially a wonderful property but it suffers from an absentee landlord who lives some distance away (Brockville). The very good potential is lost to some degree by the small but annoying deficiencies brought about by the lack on any true on-site appreciation of the current state of the rental. Items are missing (Tassimo Coffee Maker) damaged (electric kettle), not working (dishwasher) in short supply (3 coffee mugs for potentially 8 renters). There was no Cottage Operational Guide (Misplaced ?) so the TV/ DVD could not be made to function.
The cleaning staff are required to report back on issues. A non refundable cleaning charge is applied because the cleaning staff launders the sheets and towels. The renter is required to vacuum, clean and put out the garbage and the recycling. If all was truly in order this would not be a big deal but under the circumstances, it is annoying to pay an additional charge. Desperately needs a professional property manager under the current circumstances.
Not what I expected for the price. Situated on a major road , when you were outside all you could hear was traffic . The water was green , would never swim in it. Would not recommend .
A great place to relax. Beautiful view. We were on a motorcycle riding weekend and this was perfect.

There are many area festivals such as Taste the County, Art tours, Jazz, quilt shows, antiques, and much much more, Did I mention great fishing?

Rates are subject to change. Fifty percent deposit due at booking. There is a $300.00 damage deposit and a $75 cleaning deposit due with final payment. Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to arrival. E-transfers, cheques are accepted. Sorry no credit cards. If cheque bounces, there is a $50.00 fee. There is a non refundable pet fee of $50.00. Well behaved dogs are welcome but please no cats.
Half of rental fee is due upon booking to hold your reservation; the balance is due 2 weeks prior to occupancy unless paying by cheque then its three to ensure it clears the bank. Security deposit, cleaning fee also due prior to arrival with balance of vacation.
