Originally built in 1879, the cottage has been beautifully renovated and decorated to create the perfect rustic retreat for the single traveller, couples, or families.
Once inside, the cottage offers a little oasis of calm. The artistic décor includes an eclectic mix of natural materials, vibrant colours, and original artwork in a wonderful blend of old and new. There is even a stunning beach landscape mural in the bathroom painted by Adelaide artist (and son of the owners) Ned Bajic. Step through the front door and into a world of artistic ambience.
This fully furnished cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The living areas are warm and welcoming, the generously sized kitchen is well equipped, and there are two double bedrooms. A sofa bed is included for an additional guest. Guests are also encouraged to make the most of the delightful private rear garden, complete with a bar and barbeque. Two smart new bicycles are included and may be used to explore the surrounding area. In winter, the cottage is a cosy and inviting hide-away; in summer, it offers a welcome respite from the heat.
The Old Pirates Cottage is perfectly located in the heart of Port Adelaide. You can easily walk to the Railway Museum, Aviation Museum, Maritime Museum, lighthouse and waterfront. The Port Adelaide railway station is just a five-minute walk away, offering easy access to the Adelaide CBD. A shopping centre with a Coles supermarket, Kmart, post office and other facilities is adjacent to the station.
The cottage is close to the beautiful and unspoilt beach at Semaphore where you can also enjoy a ride on the historic carousel. Semaphore Road is alive with popular cafes and charming shops.
The Old Pirates Cottage combines peace and quiet with character and convenience. It is the ideal place to call home during your visit to Port Adelaide. Well behaved pooches are welcome with prior approval from the owners.

Our experience at the Old Pirates Cottage.
The time spent at the Old Pirates cottage was wonderful. From the time we arrived until the time we left we felt that our hosts were making sure our stay was great, even to having a gift for our dog and allowing her to enjoy the time with us. Very central to the train and also to places in Port Adelaide,. Would recommend this property to everyone who wants to experience a little bit of the past. Thanks to our host and hostess who were on hand to answer any questions and give advise. It was just like being at home.
We had a wonderful stay at the Old Pirates Cottage and really appreciated the hospitality of Zoran and Silvana as well as their creatively restored cottage.
An amazing kitchen where cooking was a pleasure, comfortable beds, a restful living room and the bonus of internet. Enjoyed using the bicycles on the great cycling paths along the coast.
We would love to return one day
We loved this place!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Pirates Cottage. The really photos don't do the place justice, every detail has been thought out, so much character. The house was extremely clean with a comfortable homely feel, and plenty of space. There were 4 adults and one child who also loved the house. Zoran and his wife were wonderful hosts, with plenty of recommendations and knowledge of the local Port Adelaide area and beyond. I hope to return, and would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a fun and relaxing stay in Adelaide.
