Kookaburra Eco Mudbrick Cottage

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

Best to hear it from a guest - Here is a review............

The mud eco cottage was awesome! It was quaint, cozy, picturesque, tidy & efficient- we can't say enough. The views from the cottage, of the surrounding hills & valley in this particular area of Australian (wine country) was both spectacular and soothing. The "local" birds ( kookaburra, parrots, a huge white Cockatoo and several other colorful species) made such beautiful sounds & were in full view. The grounds had the most amazing floral gardens ... Truly a tranquil setting for the nature lover. We enjoyed the local experience of shopping/ eating in the local markets and near by was the town brewery. As for the touristy aspects, so close to the local vineyards, chocolatiers, Botanical type Gardens were nearby, homemade ice cream, cheese/dairy farms, a flower /Alpaca farm, the list goes on. Healesville was close by w/ a wildlife sanctuary, we ventured on a historic train ride & poked around in the shoppes. We did it all in a relaxed manner & right at our doorstep. This was a sight unseen choice and has become our best kept secret shhhhhh- When we return to Australia this will be our go to stop. For us, close to nearby family and the bounties of the surrounding valley! It has a lot to offer in the ideal location...

Blissful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous little cottage provided us with everything we needed for the perfect getaway. Beautiful views of native trees and plant life from every window, and the fresh bread, juice, fruit and ground coffee was such a treat.

Highly recommended!

Charming getaway

  • 4 of 5

An excellent place to get away from the urban grind (not the coffee shop )

The hosts keep everything very clean and functional. And the little extra touches (fresh ground coffee, fresh baked bread, bowl of fruit, fresh milk, variety of tea, fresh flowers, and a supply of firewood) all adds to the charm. It’s very peaceful. We had kookaburras singing at dusk, and the odd Rosella visit during the day. Close to Healesville and Yarra Glen for coffee and vineyards (there’s even one at the end of the road).

Cosy and very cute cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we enjoyed the cottage, this time in winter. It was lovely having the wood fire going and thoroughly enjoyed staying inside and relaxing. This is now one of our favorite weekend getaways. We will come back. As with our last stay, it was nice to have a loaf of fresh bread, milk, juice and fruit there on our arrival. Many thanks, Richard and Julie.

The cutest place for a romantic weekend getaway!

We had a fabulous time in the cottage. It's simple but well appointed, spacious and in a great hideaway location. We're going to come back in Winter so we can enjoy the wood fire. Highly recommend it as a base for exploring the Yarra valley region.
