Majorca Magic Degraves Flinders Lane' is in one of the hottest locations in the City of Melbourne. Located on the 5th floor of the Harry Norris designed Majorca building at the end of the intersection of Flinders Lane and Degraves Street (258 Flinders Lane). After passing through the secure threshold you will feel transported to the era of the 1900’s. Elegant marble stairs, Spanish influenced tiles, decorative iron work and the masterpiece of the foyer being the traditional, fully operational elevator.

Now to the apartment itself, spoil yourself in this two bedroom fully renovated stunner. Sleeping up to 5 in this spacious 85 Sq m apartment with two small Parisian style Juliet balconies, one off the lounge room and one off the second bedroom. Polished floorboards in the living areas and then the bare foot comfort of carpet in the second bedroom. Free Wi-Fi.

Overlooking the Flinders Lane precinct and Degraves Street, the “go to place” for coffee lovers, foodies, art lovers, wine lovers and shoppers in Melbourne. Forget the car, you will never even think about driving with everything enviously within a short stroll. It is only a 15 minute walk to Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex and a 25 minute walk to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, making it easy for getting to conferences and events.

You will be asking “Will it be noisy staying here?” You will not believe you are in the heart of Melbourne. The Apartment does not experience the noise and hustle and bustle you would expect from being in such a central location. If you love the “buzz” then throw open those balcony doors.

A fully equipped kitchen with all the modern necessities including coffee machine, pots and pans, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle. Dining room with 6 seater dining table, air conditioner unit in the lounge room & 2nd bedroom, wall panel heaters in lounge room & each bedroom, hidden European laundry with washing machine & clothes dryer, iron and ironing board, leather couch, entertainment system with iPod dock and Bluetooth connection, flat screen TV and Free Wi-Fi.

Bedroom Configuration

Bedroom 1 – Queen Bed with full height concertina doors that can be left open to enjoy the appeal of a studio apartment or closed to be separated from the living room.

Bedroom 2 – Queen Bed with panel heater, air conditioning unit and balcony.

Linen and towels are supplied for you.

Bathroom Configuration

Bathroom 1/Ensuite – Double Shower with the brilliance of a tiled feature wall and slate flooring.

Separate Toilet

The modern bathroom is accessible through a private robe leading from the second bedroom or through a common entrance in the hallway. Couples can have their privacy ensured with doors on both bathroom entrances.

Meet and Greet

Please provide your arrival time as one of our staff will meet you at the apartment and welcome you. There is a $45 meet and greet fee applied to your total booking cost however if you are arriving after 6pm, an additional fee will apply.

After hours Concierge fees are as follows:

6pm – 9pm $60

9pm – 12am $90

After midnight $100-$150

Any delays not notified in advance (at least 1 hour before scheduled arrival) will incur an additional $70 call out fee.

The mandatory $45 will be used as credit towards to any of the above after hours Concierge fees incurred.

Cleaning Service

Staying 9+ nights? We include compulsory interim housekeeping. Additional cleans can be provided on request. Staying between 3 and 8 nights? Let our housekeeping team provide you with a fresh, clean apartment! Available at a rate of $120 AUD per service.

Security Deposit

Please note we will deduct $500 from your credit card 10 days prior to your arrival. This will then be returned upon inspection of the property after your departure.

If we need to make a claim against your security deposit it covers an amount up to $1000, which may include but is not limited to the following:

Excess cleaning fees, Excess laundering fees (inc. sleeping directly on to doonas, pillows, mattresses), Dirty BBQ, Excess garbage removal, Damage or breakages at the property, Loss of keys or scanners and Late check-out.

Our rates are based on twin share. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed in advance. Please include all adults and children in your enquiry. If you have babies please advise their ages also.

Please note the property cannot accept guests under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a minimum of 2 adults, over the age of 25, present the whole stay. If this rule is breached, your security deposit will be forfeited and you may be evicted at any stage.

Supplies

We provide you with a starter pack of essential house hold items such as toiletries, dish washing detergent, washing powder, dish cloths, scrubbing brush, paper towels and toilet paper on check in. You will then need to purchase all necessities for the continuation of your stay.

A Heritage Victoria database entry for Majorca House, says: "The Moorish influence in its terracotta facade places it firmly within the Melbourne tradition of exotic architecture in the late 1920s."

This landmark on the city scene is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture our city has. When you next walk along Degraves Street or Flinders Lane stop and have a peak at the Majorca Building, everything about it is decadent and harks back to art deco and luxury. The facade on the outside is blue and gold with gorgeous details like the twisted gold columns that run up and down next to the windows. The entry way is mainly dark wood that has been twisted and styled to look like a boutique entrance and the golden light behind the windows shines through and eliminated the whole entry way beautifully at night. The Majorca building has mainly residential apartments for some of the luckiest people in Melbourne. They not only have a beautiful piece of architecture to call home, but all the great cafes and stores on the ground level are their local shops.

Top Spot, Stunning Space

We were celebrating my 50th and showing off Melbourne to our country kids, and this was the perfect place for both. Located in the heart of the city, in a bustling laneway, it was full of life but not too loud as Degraves Street tends to shut down at night. The building and apartment are art deco and super stylish, and I felt like we'd drifted onto the pages of Hercule Poirot novel. Loved it! Will be back.

Awesome location

We had a great stay at this property with one of Melbournes most popular laneways on the building's doorstep. The only downside was a bit of noise some nights from a neighbouring bar, although the live jazz on another night was a great way to go to sleep. Clean and comfortable with every facility we needed. Many thanks to Michael and Lisa for your help and the late checkout

Great Melbourne laneway stay

We had a wonderful time at the Majorca on Degraves/Flinders lane. Right in the thick of things and a fun Melbourne vibe as soon as you step out the door. It was a bit noisy at night but that's to be expected in this location which well and truly made up for it.The apartment had everything a family of four needed. Check-in was easy with Michael and he gave us a little extra time on check-out which was very much appreciated.

Wonderful property in wonderful location!

My sister and I stayed at the apartment recently and were not disappointed. It is spacious, light filled, beautifully decorated and right above Degraves Laneway - just walk out the door and there are cafes, bars, music. So much atmosphere plus everything is so close by - trams, Flinders Street Station (5 minutes walk), other laneways and restaurants. Because it's situated on a busy laneway, it can get a little noisy late at night and early hours of the morning but it's not too disturbing. We would love to stay here again on our next visit.

Beautifully appointed chic and comfortable apartment with old world charm right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Step outside the foyer and from the front step you can immerse yourself in all Melbourne has to offer. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
