About the property

Apartment 21 @ Hibiscus is in the beautiful Hibiscus Gardens & Spa Resort.

As we own and self-manage the property, we are able to offer nightly rates that are most competitive and usually well below the rates charged for most of the other apartments in the Resort.

And being Port Douglas locals, we are available at any time to help you with your stay in beautiful Tropical North Queensland and help you have a most wonderful holiday.

Apartment 21 is unique and different from the majority of apartments in the Resort, situated on the corner of the south-eastern building, with only 1 neighbour and having windows on 3 sides, means it is especially light, bright and airy. Being a corner apartment, its balcony is bigger than most, with railings on 2 sides, giving a wide open outlook.

Best of all, its location means it is the closest of all the apartments to the beautiful 4-Mile Beach, just an easy 3 minute walk away. The Marina and centre of Port Douglas, with its many shops, restaurants, cafes and other attractions are a similar short walk.

Immediately underneath the Apartment, is the shared under cover parking facility, meaning your car is always nearby.

The Apartment is fully prepared for your arrival, with freshly laundered sheets and pillow cases, that we obtain from the local laundry service, ensuring the highest standards of quality and hygiene. We provide each of our guests with 2 bath towels, 1 beach towel, a face cloth and shampoo/conditioner/soap. Tea, coffee, sugar salt & pepper are also provided.

Apartment 21 is a self service Apartment, so we do not service the apartment during your stay, but if you are staying more than 8 nights, we provide a complimentary mid stay clean and change of linen (and towels etc).

The Apartment is on the 1st floor, up an easy flight of stairs. The spacious balcony is the perfect place to eat, enjoy a drink or to simply relax, whilst enjoying an open outlook (including over one of the Resort's pools). From your private balcony, you enter the Apartment, with newly renovated kichenette (with full size fridge), open lounge room with daybed for a 3rd guest (if needed) and TV, leading through to the separately partitioned bedroom, with its queen size bed and onto the bathroom beyond.

The facilities of the Hibiscus Gardens & Spa Resort are available for the use of guests, including the 2 swimming pools and the ever popular on-site Spa. There is a shared laundry for guests, that operates on a user pay basis. Guests may also enjoy on-site breakfasts (at a charge).

Guest access:

There are 2 heated pools in the Resort, outdoor bbq's, an on-site spa, a guests' laundry (user pay) and free on-site parking.

Guest interaction:

We live locally, so guests are free to contact us at all times.

Neighbourhood overview:

Located in the heart of Port Douglas, you are in the centre of things, all within an easy stroll from the Apartment.

Getting around:

Being in the centre of town, many guests do not worry about having a car. There is a local shuttle service operates through out Port Douglas for those who want to do 'exploring'.

Other things to note:

We provide an easy check in procedure, with a key safe on the balcony door, letting guests check themselves in - but we are available to help guests with their arrival if requested.

If you have never been to Port Douglas before, Apartment 21 @ Hibiscus is the only place to stay, and if you have been here before, you will already know Apartment 21 @ Hibiscus is the only place to stay.

Central, clean, lovely apartment

We had a wonderful stay in Port Douglas. The apartment was well equipped, nicely furnished and very clean. Marina, beach and shops are just a short stroll away. Peter welcomed us personally on our arrival, which was very lovely and added a personal touch. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location - great property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside to this apartment was the noise level from the road, specially early in the mornings, but would definitely stay there again.

Great property, fantastic location!

A perfect place to stay during my week stay in Port Douglas. It has everything you need for the perfect getaway. Nothing was forgotten by the owners and it was great they provided beach towels, salt and pepper, cling wrap - all this things you don't realise you may need on a holiday!

This property is so close to the Main Street and only short walk to the surf club and beach. The whole resort has a lovely feel and the atmosphere makes you feel you're a long way from home.

Peter and Keiko were great to deal with and always very friendly and helpful. I certainly will be in contact when I come to Port Douglas in the future.

Brilliant location and hosts

Terrific location - 5 minute walk to the beach and 2 minutes to Macrossan Street. The apartment itself is situated in a well maintained complex and is an ideal size for 2 adults and one child. The mid stay clean was an added bonus. The kitchen area was small but we ate out every night so that didn't bother us too much. The only downside to this apartment was the noise level from the road outside which was most noticeable in the early mornings.

Very comfortable with nice surroundings

THE UNIT:

The unit itself was very nice and had quite good light in the lounge room. Bathroom too had good lighting but a small bath (not that that was a problem for us). The kitchen area was small but, again, had everything we needed apart from an oven. Loved the nice big balcony which was used as a dining area. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Very relaxed yet comfortable place. Partial pool views. Only slight negative we found was that it can be a bit noisy from delivery trucks in the morning.

COMPLEX:

The complex itself is a lot nicer than any other similarly priced ones we looked at. Very well located, being half way between beach and shops. great place to stay.

HOSTS:

Our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We stayed here with our 16 month old and they provided us with the use of a high-chair and port-a-cot (which they had just gone out and purchased brand new). We had also enquired about a blender which they also provided us with so they certainly go out of there way to help out.

STAY AGAIN?

All things being the same, we would definitely stay again. We had spent a lot of time searching for the best accommodation to suite our needs but if we were in the same situation next time then we would skip that and just see if this unit is available again (we are expecting our second child in a few months time so I don't think we will be able so stay I a 1 bedroom next time though).
