Deluxe country getaway, quiet & peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Pippin Tops was just what my family & I needed.

We spent 3 days / nights relaxing, unwinding and soaking up the country air. The house is very well equipped with all the mod cons right down to the high quality of the bedding and towels provided.

The property is very clean and the bedrooms are all spacious. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The lounge and dining areas are very spacious too and large enough to host many if needed.

Our kids loved the pool and spent hours each day in it..!

The surrounding gardens around the pool & BBQ area are well landscaped.

The surrounding views from the property are very picturesque and even better at night with so many visible stars. It's very peaceful and quiet.

I'd highly recommend a stay here. Thanks again to Stephen for being a great communicator and prompt in replying to our queries.

We look forward to returning down the track. Cheers

Peaceful respite

  • 4 of 5

We had a relaxing, peaceful stay here. We spent 3 nights here. It was a very beautiful property- beautiful views of the rolling, bouldered hills. A spectacular sunset first night. Saw a wallaby. Loved the wild turkeys and the bird life. The berries were truly delicious- sweet and flavoursome. The garden was beautifully landscaped. The pool was great- quite deep. Kids loved it. There is no shade- there was a small umbrella in the laundry but it didn't stand up to the wind very well. Speaking of wind, it rattled the shade sail out back beside my room which I found difficult to sleep through, though I am a very light sleeper. I swapped rooms and slept better after a windy night. The kitchen was great- modern, well- equipped. The blender made short work of my daily smoothie. The living area was spacious and comfortable. I prefer cotton blankets so you may need to hunt in the cupboards for these- I found one and was more comfortable. My one problem was that the house had a musty smell in one bedroom and the laundry. I could cope with the laundry as we could just shut the door, but the bedroom odour was quite strong for me so I avoided that room too. It didn't bother my son. The owners were very nice- their dog was lost, so Stephen camped somewhere out of sight for the first night. We explored a lovely river at Stephen's recommendation that was about a 5-10 minute drive away- boulders and pools to dip into. Mostly we just stayed put and enjoyed the scenery. Seymour was further away than expected- it seemed to take at least 40 mins, and I got lost thanks to google maps on a homeward trip. Maybe don't rely on google maps! We would have liked to stay a little longer- if it's peace and quiet you are after, then this is a good choice.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comprehensive review. It is impossible to have spectacular views without being exposed to spectacular wind. We enjoy calm weather and light winds most of the time. However, the wind is sometimes severe and can destroy shade sails, umbrellas and outdoor furniture. In relation to the smell ( dead rodent in roof ), it has been dealt with. It is best to inform the owners of minor problems, as they may be able to be easily fixed.

Unique

  • 3 of 5

A lovely remote location but not the complete relaxing retreat that we expected.

There was little shade and no comfortable outdoor areas to enjoy.

The kids loved the pool and the music system was great.

Owner's Response: Pippin Tops has approximately 100 square meters of decking surrounding three sides of the house. Additionally, a shady tropical garden is located at the rear of the house. Four tables and adequate seating are distributed around these areas. A creek lined with tall red gums is only 60m from the house. The real beauty of the property is that the huge picture windows in the family room give extensive westerly views and the feeling of being outside, while you sit in air conditioned comfort whatever the weather. The modern pool is only 4m from the house and can also be viewed from the family room.

Private, Great Sunsets and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

The stay at Pippin Tops was amazing for the family 5 nights and 6 days. The rooms were spacious as well as the bathrooms. Relaxing at the pool with the sunsets and kangaroos running around was really beautiful as well as the quietness. Our say at Pippin Tops was incrediable and relaxing, away from the city.

Remote, relaxing location

  • 4 of 5

Pippin Tops was a great relaxing family holiday. Pool was excellent as the weather was very hot. Bathrooms were modern and clean, although the family room was a little disappointing. Great breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the dam and hills.
