The half acre block has exquisite views of the Cove and its diverse wildlife including dolphins, pelicans, sea eagles and kangaroos. Watch the sunrise from the verandah, enjoy an early morning kayak paddle, or launch your own boat from the private boat ramp to explore the Cove and beyond.

Cottage on the Cove will not disappoint as there is something for everyone - and pet friendly!

The Cottage

Sleeping up to 8 adults, there are two queen rooms, and one double room. The verandah bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed. All new beds, mattresses, quilts with covers and pillows. The lounge room is super comfy featuring a 3 seater lounge with chaise, a large plasma TV with CD/DVD player and spills out onto the sweeping verandas where there is a new Weber Q to enjoy an outdoor BBQ or an early morning coffee. There are two separate verandah table options.

The dining room features a large table seating eight. Great water views can be enjoyed while dining or lounging. The kitchen is impressive with setting for 12 and everything you will need to prepare your favourite meals. There are water glasses, wine glasses, beer glasses, mugs and jugs. Microwave, toaster, electric kettle, french press, and a Kenwood stick mixer. Quality knives, mixing bowls, measuring cups, and serving platters - all new. There is a 3 way bathroom with full bath and separate shower. A new toilet, basin, and taps just installed. Tea and coffee are supplied along with basic pantry items on a replace as you use basis.

At the waterside you will find a great picnic table and brazier for roasting marshmallows or even cooking on - so many options! Included in your stay is use of two new kayaks with life jackets and paddles. Also a private boat ramp for launching your own boat at high tide. A four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle is required because of the steep section of the lawn going down to the ramp.

For kids there are toys, games, and puzzles. There is a portable cot, highchair, and children's plates and cutlery. Even a little step under the basin!

North Arm Cove

North Arm Cove is the gem of Port Stephens and one of the most beautiful spots on the East Coast of Australia. There is so much to experience here.

The biggest disruptions in North Arm Cove are from the extraordinary encounters you'll have with its diverse wildlife. The birdlife is amazing. You'll see and hear Kookaburra's, King Parrots, Kingfishers, Rosella's, Lorikeet's, Sea Eagles, Osprey, Pelicans, Black Swans and more. Dolphins are regularly spotted feeding on schools of fish right out in front of the Cottage.

You're only minutes from the quaint village of Tea Gardens on the beautiful Myall River. Catch the ferry across to Nelson Bay, charter a fishing boat or just enjoy the local art. There are numerous restaurants serving superb seafood. Cross the Singing Bridge into Hawkes Nest, but don't drive too fast as you might spot a Koala in the reserve on your left. Head to Bennet's beach for a surf or run your four-wheel drive along the beach to Myall Lakes National Park. Hike up the Yaccaba Headland for panoramic views to Newcastle and beyond. You'll be able to spot dolphins and also whales in season from this location.

Drive north a few minutes from Hawkes Nest and you're in the National Park where you'll see Dingo's and can net prawns in the lakes.

Bring your fishing gear as the fishing options are endless. The Cove is great for Whiting, Bream and Blue Swimmer crabs. Just around the corner near Middle Island you'll encounter Jewfish. Longtail Tuna cruise through the bay in season as do countless other species. Head outside for great Snapper and Flathead fishing, troll the islands for Kingfish, Tailor and Bonito. The waters off Port Stephens offer some of the best big game fishing in Australia.

In less than an hour you'll be in the middle of the Hunter Valley enjoying the extraordinary array of wineries, gardens, entertainment, and dining opportunities. Forty five minutes has you into Newcastle.

Beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here, and the appreciated the excellent facilities provided generously. We loved that our dogs could come on holidays with us. The only hiccup is there is not secure place to leave our dogs outside. If we had known this in advance we would have bought our dog crate. Perhaps suggest fencing some of the balcony. Otherwise excellent

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed for 2 nights, but everything was perfect! We felt right at home, everything we needed was there. We were able to take our dog, and there was heaps of space for him to run around and play. We would definitely stay again!

A Lovely Cottage for our weekend stay

  • 5 of 5

This house is in a fantastic location with direct water access. Very clean and without a doubt one of the best equipped kitchens we have seen. For our weekend away, which included our dog, it was a great location. Everyone enjoyed picking tomatoes and raspberries from the garden and sitting on the verandah in the sun was just divine. Everything went smoothly and we had a fantastic weekend.

Inviting & Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We have been holidaying in the Port Stephens area for several years with extended family. This was our favourite house so far and we want to come back! We really enjoyed being able to leave the boat on the mooring and used it everyday for fishing and crabbing and boating fun without the daily hassle of busy boat ramps. A bit of planning around the tides was needed if we wanted to avoid a muddy walk to the boat, but it was wonderfully convenient. The Kayaks were really handy for paddling expeditions, for flathead hunting and for getting in and out to the boat. We feasted on our fish and crab catch several times! NAC was much quieter than the Nelson Bay side where we usually holiday- and was very peaceful and relaxing. We discovered good cafes in both Karuah and Tea Gardens which can be visited in under 20 minutes by car and boat. It was also fun taking a boat ride to Nelson Bay and not too bad a drive by car to some of the fun tourist attractions like Fighter World and Oakvale Farm- or for some pampering in Nelson Bay. The house was the best equipped so far, the cleanest, and the most homely. We were very comfortable and relaxed and Tim was very welcoming too. Thanks for a lovely stay!
