A Little On Dwellingup...
A great little hidden gem in W.A and if nature's your thing, Dwellingup delivers in spades. It's one of only a handful of town sites which the world-class Bibbulmun Track passes through. The Murray river is 10 mins away for water activities or just strolling through the beautiful Lane Poole Reserve.
We are just a 5 minutes walk to the train station where you can climb aboard the train to Etmilyn during the day and you'll see the forest from either a steam train (in winter months) or a diesel- powered converted open freight wagon with tram seating.
On Saturday nights, the dining cars come out where you can have a dining experience from yesteryear. The large picture windows give an eerily beautiful view of the forest lit by the train's strategically placed lights.
Conveniently located we are close to town and 200m from State Forest for lovely walks, a 10 minute drive to the Murray River for canoeing, swimming and picnics. Choose from 7 different day walks on the Bibbulman Track or for those after a Forest Cycling Adventure take a ride on the World Class Munda Biddi Bike Trail. There is also the incredible, newly built Trees Adventures - In Lane Poole Park. You'll also find wineries, café's, chocolate shop, arts and crafts, and a world famous Heritage Centre. As mentioned, Dwellingup is also famous for the Hotham Valley Railway which has steam and diesel engines. Trains run daily. Next door to the train station is a very interesting Information Centre.

Why Dianne chose Dwellingup
Having been fond visitors and campers in younger years to Dwellingup & Lane Poole, we were thrilled to find this property which was a piece of crown state forest. We have kept many of the old trees and have a cleared fire pit out the back for winter stays and glamping but the house is newly built so there's many creature comforts of today's times to become a home away from home escape.

Lovely short stay as we had a Wedding in Dwellingup. House was very clean. Great cooking equipment in the kitchen. Loved the wood fire and comfy bed. Will hopefully come back and stay longer next time.
Cute, clean and comfortable
Excellent facilities and close to cafes and train. We will definitely be back.
Good location, somewhat neglected.
We stayed for a 3 day stint in December 2017. The house is well outfitted and comfortable if a little rustic - but then that is what you go to Dwellingup for a taste of right?
On the second day we discovered a horde of ants around the bins and kitchen surfaces, we are not messy and this was very surprising. We took to putting the bins out twice a day and cleaning down all work surfaces immediately: not exactly a relaxing experience. Ants were scouting throughout the house the whole time.
The microwave is located atop the fridge and slides backwards easily so take care when using it if you aren't tall.
I advise that you read the standard Stayz terms very carefully as the owner will subtract costs from your bond with impunity. The requirement to clean the house completely including putting away the dishes and packing and getting out before 10AM is unrealistic when being on holiday. We left a coffee cup and a few plates on the sink and were pinged $30 for it without any ability to talk to the owner on it.
Thank you, we had a great time at the cottage, will definitely be back again. Our young boys loved playing in the garden and preparing the wood fire.
Thanks for leaving so well stocked!
A fantastic cottage to share a special getaway with friends, has everything you need and more. We were welcomed with a lovely warm fire waiting for us and enjoyed the cosy atmosphere all weekend. Close to everything with all the special extras provided. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Comfortable family home. Very clean!
Was very clean and comfortable. Spacious living areas and comfy beds. Highly recommend. Especially lived the electric blankets on a cold night.
