Old Dadswell Town - 2 bedroom cabins

Bedrooms 12
Property type house

About the property

Country-style self-contained cottages with a touch of nostalgia, history, memorabilia and our good old Aussie humour.

We have a large mob of kangaroos and wallabies here as regular visitors as well as plenty of other local wildlife on our 280 acres. In spring we have native orchids all thru the property and this is a great time to explore the grampians region.

There are five spacious two bedroom cottages which sleep four. Our one bedroom cottages are ideal for a couples getaway. We also have some cabins with sofa beds for an extra guest or 2..

Our shearing shed-style Town Hall has a great atmosphere for communal get togethers, with a large open fireplace and rustic tables and chairs. New additions to the town, Our Olde Time Lolly Shop.

Mad Max's Garage is a car nut's heaven, with hot rods and motoring memorabilia lining the walls, ideal for car clubs and groups. It even has its own 50s-style diner.

We have gentle bush walks around our property or for something more challenging its only a five minute drive to mountain climbs. With Halls Gap only a 20 min drive away our town is an ideal base for you to explore this wonderful region. We are also an ideal overnight stop for guests travelling between Adelaide and Melbourne.

Tranquil Enjoyable Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Old Dadswell Town. Our hosts, Max and Jenny were lovely. There if we needed them. But otherwise very non-intrusive. Gave us some district information. Quirky and interesting and would be a great place to bring kids. Clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a few days RnR.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Unique cabins with a homely feel, the hosts Jenny and Max were great with giving us extra tips and guidance for things to do in the area and would light a communal fire each night which was especially great for the kids and toasting marshmallows. A lovely place to stay.

Quirky but good

  • 4 of 5

Had a great stopover both ways on our trip from Melbourne to South Australia. The cabins were very good; neat and clean and the facilities were also good. Our dogs loved it, they were fascinated by the kangaroos of which there were many.

Great place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We arrived late and owners offered some eggs, toast etc for our family which was lovely.

Nice cabins with quaint style.

We had two dogs who loved it here and owner offered a huge paddock to run them which was brilliant as we had travelled across Australia.

Quaint and carefully organised village old style with lots of love and thought gone into it.

Would recommend!
