The Eyrie - coastal retreat

Bedrooms 4
Space 10 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 4 nights

About the property

Enjoy the beautiful coastal lifestyle of Marion Bay and Innes National Park. There is something here for everyone - some of the best surfing and fishing spots you will find, native birds and wildlife, and spectacular beaches and coastline to explore.

At 28 Osprey Drive, the Eyrie Holiday House is right on the boundary of the National Park, and is only five minutes walk from beautiful Willyama Beach. Backing down onto a reserve, this pole home takes in sweeping views of native scrub and salt lakes.

The Eyrie can accommodate up to nine people. It has four bedrooms - two queens and one double, with the fourth bedroom containing a bunk, single bed and an optional portable cot. There is one bathroom, with a second WC in the laundry.

The central area has a generous open plan kitchen, dining and living area, equipped with satellite TV and video/dvd. A wall of north facing windows let the winter sun pour in and provide cross ventilation for the summer seabreeze to flow through the house. Cooling and heating are supported by a powerful panasonic split system airconditioner and overhead fans.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, induction cooktop, rangehood, dishwasher and microwave, as well as quality cookware, crockery and cutlery. Enjoy beautiful sunsets out on the deck, which has an outdoor table setting and gas bbq.

All bedrooms are supplied with covered quilts, pillows and extra blankets; you will need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels and tea towels.

Marion Bay is located at the Southern most tip of the Yorke Peninsula. It borders the Innes National Park, with rugged coastline, historic sites, nature walks, and excellent fishing and surfing spots. The Marion Bay tavern serves excellent meals and hospitality. There is a local jetty and boat ramp for the fishers. Penguin Point and Willyama Beach offer good safe swimming locations, especially for children.

The Eyrie is an elevated pole home which takes in unobstructed sweeping native scrub, national park and salt lake views. The house backs down onto a reserve, overlooked by the main balcony and second private balcony attached to the main bedroom (both north facing). This bedroom also has direct access to the two-way bathroom. The kitchen is well provisioned, with a stainless steel dishwasher, oven and rangehood, induction cooktop, and a family sized fridge.

Affordable stay

  • 3 of 5

Nice clean and tidy house, everything you need to relax for your time away in Marion bay. 1 gripe tho, no complementaries, not even anything to cover your first night. The general store is very expensive and closes early, so if you arrive late to the accomodation, be sure to bring soap, hair care, coffee, milk and breakfast. Otherwise nice house, great pub ?

Great Value For Money

  • 5 of 5

The second time I have stayed at The Eyrie and once again I was very satisfied with what the accommodation offers.

It has everything you need for a great holiday - well equipped kitchen, air con/heating, plenty of space, comfy beds and a great balcony.

Good place

  • 3 of 5

Property was nice a little run down but had everything besides a washing machine that you would need. Was a little dirty but not that bad you felt gross, just needed a good clean but the most important areas ie bathroom were clean. I had issues with the main bed but that may have just been me as I have a bad back. Still was a nice place to stay and owner was very friendly, enjoyed our short stay.

Owner's Response: Hi Samantha, thanks for taking the time to review the Eyrie. I will forward your comments to my cleaner, maybe it's time for a thorough spring clean! I would like to note however that there is a washing machine in the laundry, sorry that you didn't notice it!

Severed its purpose

  • 3 of 5

Some light globes need replacing and for the amount of people it accomodates a bigger dining with more chairs that are not broken would be better and more than 2 rolls of toilet paper, there should have at least been 2 rolls per toilet

Lovely and comfortable house

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautifully furnished to feel cosy and like a home. Beautiful views over the national park from the living room and main bedroom. Afternoon sun streaming through the windows. Easy short walk to Willyama beach. Located in a nice and quiet area of Marion Bay.
