'Mt. Rose' is a modern home with old world charm located in the beautiful 'Old Southwest' section of Reno, only five minutes from downtown Reno.
This gorgeous 3300 square foot home truly has something for everyone. There are two wet bars, a four person sauna with a large adjoining shower on the main floor near the bedrooms, and upstairs, you can enjoy comfortable leather seating while watching a big screen TV in a large media room with surround sound, skylights, a remote controlled gas fireplace, and a granite wet bar.
The home has five bedrooms (all with luxurious pillow-top mattresses), and four bathrooms on the main floor -- two of the bedrooms have king size beds, and the other three bedrooms have queen size beds (one also has a day bed with a slide out trundle.) For extra sleeping there is a second day bed and trundle upstairs in the media room. The home has four fireplaces.
On the private backyard patio, there is seating for twelve, a gas barbeque, and a pool table. The home has a two car garage and additional off-street parking.
The house has an electronic keyless entry. This system is easy to use and eliminates any possible problems with lost keys. (You also won't have to drive around trying to find the place to pick up your keys when you arrive). Our customers love it.
I recently stayed here with group of 8 people and we all had a great time. Everyone was impressed with the size of the house. All of the rooms were very spacious and accomodating, especially when most of the rooms have their own bathrooms. The house worked out really well for cooking breakfast and BBQ'ing dinner and it's a short drive or taxi ride to downtown Reno. Also, throughout the entire process Lisa was very helpful and accomodating. Thanks again Lisa! I'd definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this house for New Years. We vacation quite frequently and I can say that this is one of the best homes we have stayed at. It was immaculate and had so much room. It was also very close to downtown Reno and the airport. I would definitely rent this home again if we are ever in Reno
We have used other vacation homes in Reno during previous visits, but this one was by far the best one to meet the needs for our extended family. We had ten adults and eight children stay here, and there was more than enough room for all of us. Each bedroom was big enough and lovely enough that everyone was pleased with their accomodations. Everything that we needed was there.
It is in a great location, a lovely neighborhood not far from downtown and all Reno activities, but a quiet and well-kept area.
The backyard area was wonderful for spending relaxing evenings enjoying Reno's cool evening air, and the pool table got plenty of use.. It would be hard to come up with a valid complaint about this property. Lisa made the reservation process easy and was accommodating when we needed to make changes after the initial reservation. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this home is because I don't want it to be booked the next time we plan to visit Reno!
We rented the home for our daughters wedding. Originally we planned to have it at the house because everything looked beautiful and Lisa went out of her way to send us pictures of the home and her son's wedding. In the end the wedding was elsewhere but the home was perfect and a great place for our family to gather. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were a godsend. True, a separate half bath would be nice but we made it all work. We came from FL with family from MI and throughout CA. This gave us a place to gather around the fireplace, have family dinners etc. We brought the patio furniture in to the garage as well because it was heated and everyone had a great time hanging out. The home was clean and felt like home. Close to shopping and anything you needed. Lisa came to our rescue with a minor snag and all was good. It was a wonderful home to have our children all gather in to celebrate this joyous occasion and allow us all to be together. I should have posted this long ago but Lisa was very helpful and we would love to rent her home again should we be back in Reno.
We rented Lisa's home for a small intimate wedding. After looking at the photos (she sent a few more of the back yard) we decided the home fit our style of life.
6 of us came from Montana and the rest of our family/friends came from CA. Our plan was to have the ceremony and meal outdoors. We arrived first and were very pleased upon arrival. Our group staying included children from the age of 5 to 16 and adults up through the age of 65. There were 17 of us which stayed at the house.
The house was clean and tastefully decorated - a note card and cookies along with a binder of information on the house/appliances, etc. greeted us.
We began at the front and moved back to each room - and it seemed as if the house was never going to end. In fact as our guests arrived that was the most common comment - "wow - it just keeps going".
Because the weather didn't cooperate - we were in the house 99% of the time. We were not all on top of each other nor were there traffic jams to use the bathrooms. Although, another common comment was a half bath with just a toilet and sink would have been nice. We were family so the use of the bathrooms by way of the bedrooms was not a problem for us.
We used all the appliances - dishwasher, indoor gas grill, stove, washer/dryer, tv's - stereo and the outdoor gas grill as well as both the sauna and whirlpool tub in the master bathroom.
The internet worked seamlessly and was fast. The one gas fireplace was a bit difficult to get started but once the pilot was lit it created a nice warmth and ambiance in the dinning area.
The use of the electronic key was perfect till I thought I forgot the numbers. But we did make it back in.
We ended up choosing plan b for the wedding ceremony and had everything indoors. The fireplace in the living room was a perfect backdrop. We set up the outdoor tables in the garage (which also contained a heater) and served
our meal and ate from there.
From my perspective as the renter and hostess for our group I was 100% pleased. Our guests were pleased. The only thing lacking was that we didn't get to meet Lisa - maybe next time, because should we all meet in Reno again, our
number 1 choice for accommodations will be the Mt. Rose home.
There were 5 couples who stayed at this vacation rental, this is not our first time. We have rented this house a few times and every time we have such a great time, never a hassle with the house. Everything you might possibly may need is at this house, so very comfortable and every room is nice and large. We had the 5 couples plus my family lives in town and they came to a bbq that we had at the house, we had close to 20 people there and there was plenty room for everyone. 2 bbq's in the backyard along with plenty of patio tables/chairs and room to play washerboard...we absolutely had a great time! And the big plus is that it's located near everything! Will reserve this location again and again! NOTE: Regarding the post about the bed bugs....really? I have NEVER had a problem with bugs when I have stayed at this rental....she sounds a little dramatic! The owner is absolutely wonderful...so easy going and is always willing to go out of her way for her renters! Enjoy!!!
