Two storey, two bedroom cottage on lake
This Tudor style house is located on one of the most beautiful places on Raymond Island, 6km's from the Paynesville township on 10 acres of bushland with tall trees in a parklike setting. Secluded off a beautiful long winding driveway, the house with it's two built in 2 storey cottages is but a few metres from the water's edge, has a safe sandy beach which stretches for miles on this side of the island. There is no road between the house and beach! The Beach front Cottage accommodates 5 people and the Garden cottage accommodates 4 people.
This area in Gippsland is well known for its mild climate in winter, and cooling sea breezes in the hot summertime. It is surely one of the finest inland lake locations in Victoria, indeed Australia. It offers great variety such as swimming, bushwalking, sailing, boating, fishing, bowling and golf.
The prawns run right out the front in summer and the owners have available sea kayaks to explore the lakes system.
We offer truly peaceful, exclusive and tranquil surroundings in which to relax and be close to unspoiled nature.
Resident on this property are koalas, echidnas, family of tawny frog mouth owls, sea eagles and kangaroos and their babies. The name of the property is a tribute to all the birdlife including black swans, pelicans, albatrosses, spoonbills, ibises, caspian terns, crimson and eastern rosellas, swift parrots, blue wrens, flame robins, azure kingfishers and many more.
Yoga classes, meditation and nutrition assessments are available for those wanting to add wellness to their holiday.
Gourmet breakfast baskets from our garden including home made jams, muesli, eggs, sourdough bread etc can be provided by prior arrangement. From $30 for two people.
Massage, beauty treatments are available from Skin Solutions Clinic and Medispa at Paynesville.
Vehicular ferry from Paynesville costs $12 return trip. Bicycles and pedestrians are free.
THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY.

Very small bathroom, kitchen, dining and lounge are all downstairs with alfresco outside eating area and bbq.
This cottage faces the garden side, toward the park-like grounds, and includes master bedroom and second bedroom upstairs, with kitchen, dining, lounge and very small bathroom downstairs and alfresco eating area off the lounge room.

Why Kirsten Mackintosh chose Raymond Island
We came across this property while kayaking around the island one Easter. I have always dreamed of a Tudor house with a seaside garden. Now we have the entire Gippsland Lakes as our backyard! Every day is an adventure; whether it's foraging for mushrooms in the autumn, paddling with the dolphins or rescuing someone whose boat has capsized in the lake. We love both the opposites of wildness when the wind whips up on the water in contrast to the perfect stillness and sunshine. Connecting with nature in all its glory we discover true liberation.
What makes this Cottage unique
The house was uniquely built and handcrafted by a German couple, the original owners. The leadlight windows in the main house bear Carl's signature. Look out for the many examples of his wrought iron work in lamps and doors. Ingrid made the cushions, curtains and established the gardens. Everything you see was made by their own hands. Carl even had the foresight to have the power lines put underground so there are no lines or fences detracting from the natural vistas.

Absolutely wonderful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. It is a hidden treasure and allows guests to take a step back from their busy lives and just relax.
Thank you for your review, we really appreciate it as does future guests, cheers.
Don't Miss This Place!
Swan Cove is a waterfront treasure! The property reminded me of an English Tudor home with retro 70's fittings but the property is German styled. There are two cottages and I loved their vintage kitchen decor. We were so very lucky to see & enjoy the architecture & finishes in the main house - this was truly a treat for us! We saw owls, koalas & kangaroos around the house and on the island. The birds feed from from your hands. This gem of a place is a wonderful example of healthy living & lifestyle - the welcome yummy slice that was left for us when we arrived was cacao topped and made from sweet potato. This stay is a unique experience not to be missed when in Victoria.
Peaceful and restorative
We needed a relaxing environment to rejuvenate the mojo and it was lovely. BBQ and the gazebo walks near the water and wildlife. Lovely hosts too
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review, and glad you enjoyed your break.
I was looking for a quiet peaceful place to take my kids for a break.
Felt at home as soon as we arrived. Kirsten is just lovely.
It was all l asked for and more. Loved the kayaking and bike riding [both supplied by Kirsten and Tony].
We booked for 2 nights but due to the floods we could not get off the island. What a shame. To be stranded 4 nights at such a beautiful place. Must be fate.
We are booked in again in January for 4 nights with my husband and his 3 kids.
Serenity as its finest!
