Beautiful house !

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful house with character though it might need a bit of update in the kitchen. The verandah with an ocean view was just perfect for a morning cuppa and an afternoon sunset. It was also a good place for nice photography ...had an amazing picture of the milky way.Our nightly visitor from some animal friends are a bonus. The indoor wood heater was enjoyed with a marsmalow and hot chocolate.

Rustic and relaxed

  • 4 of 5

Tasman Peninsula Retreat was a great base to explore Port Arthur, the Peninsula and surrounds. We loved the ocean views and bush block, and our children loved the upstairs bedroom and little sitting area to themselves. Some of the inclusions are a little older, but in the nature of charming beach retreat style. Vitali and Shirley were lovely to deal with and very helpful and responsive.

Peaceful retreat

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at this very peaceful little house. Beautiful view over the water and very warm with the sun shining during the day and the wood heater at night. Outdoor fireplace was a hit with the kids. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and property was generally clean. Only criticism was that it could do with a good spring clean, particularly the fridge and oven.

Lovely location!

  • 3 of 5

The cottage has wonderful views of the bay, salmon farms and Mount Wellington. The lounge room was blessed with sunshine(when it was shining) from sunrise to sunset!

It was a shame we arrived to a power outage (and then had several during our stay) and the house is so reliant on electricity. A "power outage pack" of candles, matches, torches and drinking water should be mentioned in your brief, so patrons can source these items with the minimum of fuss. We went to the local supermarket to purchase candles, matches and water but later found torches and candles scattered in a drawer.

On arrival the wood shed had no chopped kindling, a supply of light, damp wood that burned quickly and other wood too hard for a woman(or even the man amongst us) to chop. We were grateful of the new load of wood the following day. A dry supply would be a good idea for the winter months. Once the fire is lit the cottage is plenty warm enough.

In all we enjoyed out stay but were very disappointed with the level of cleanliness.....

this relaxed hideaway served its purpose well

  • 4 of 5

we loved the casual 'easy vibe' beach house atmosphere and were mindful of the tank water, keeping showers short. kitchen well stocked and beds clean & comfy. Would happily rebook. Many thanks, Davey, Scott and Millie.
