A comfortable apartment for two with pool, in a small village 300yds from sea

The sunny and comfortable apartment is on the ground floor in a two-story building and a patio surrounds the building. The building has only eight, one bedroomed apartments. It contains an open plan living/dining/kitchen with a garden view. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped for self catering and there is a washing machine and a hair dryer.The bedroom has air conditioning/heating.

The comfortable apartment is ideal for one or two persons. It is 300 yards from the rocky shore. St. Julians, with its many shops, restaurants and Churches is within 5 minutes by car. Car hire is recommended but not essential. Parking outside the apartment is available for any hired cars. St. Julians has many language schools and they are easily accessible from the apartment as are numerous internet cafes. RENTAL INCLUDES WATER AND ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTIN. The pool is open between first May to October. Sometimes it is closed for maintenance, this is beyond my control.

TAXI AND CAR HIRE CAN BE ARRANGED BY ME AT COMPETITIVE RATES AS THEY HAVE THE KEYS TO MY APARTMENT.

With ramblers in mind late winter and early spring the Maltese islands offer the most fascinating country walks. The North West has a breathtaking array of scenic landscapes rich in geological features, secluded beaches, coastal cliffs, historical and archaeological sites, coastal towers and wayside chapels scattered in remote and sometimes inaccessible areas. The apartment is perfectly located for exploring the country side and coast near by.

Located in the area is the Mediterraneo Bio Park. A great way to understand more about marine life and its inhabitants through entertainment. You can also swim with the dolphins.

About Mrs. Rita Bourne

We have owned and loved this apartment for many years. It has provided us with a frequently visited second home from home for us and for our grown up family. Malta was my home before meeting my husband who was a Royal Marine Officer at St. Andrews, just up the road. We now spend our time between the two countries.

It's location is so convenient for quiet or lively attractions. All you have to do is turn left for open countryside and miles of promenade and right for lively St. Julians. The apartments are tucked away from the main road where you have access to busses or if you hire a car you can reach most of the island.

Well equipped, well located property.

Property ideal for a couple looking for a well equipped, well located apartment to stay in during their visit to the island of Malta.

The apartment is situated very near to the coast, with access to public transport and well located to drive to anywhere in Malta. There is so much to do and see around the island it is definitely worth considering hiring a car and seeing as much of it as you can. This apartment is ideal for this, with parking outside the apartment and quick, easy access to main roads.

The property itself is very well equipped, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the bathroom, lounge and bedroom are finished to a high spec and the owner provides all the useful extras like washing machine, hairdryer, deckchairs and even bags to go and get your shopping.

Owner is top notch, not only being very attentive to emails but going out of her way to make your visit that extra bit special.

Would recommend this property to anyone.

A well appointed apartment in a rural area

The location of this apartment suited us because we had a hire car and it is midway between all the major sites, however, the area did feel a little run down. In saying that, we found that many areas of the island felt unfinished with derelict buildings and poor roads. The pool at the apartment was clean and very welcome in the heat and we largely had it to ourselves, however, there are no sun beds around the pool and although there was a deck chair and cushions for our use, we would have appreciated light weight foldable sunbeds. We had also failed to comprehend that the outside space was not immediately connected to the apartment meaning that dining outside was more difficult. Contact with the owner was excellent and she responded to a faulty fan issue immediately - the apartment is clearly well loved and provided us with everything we required for our stay.

A one bedroom flat in a good location.

The flat is in a good location. It has plenty of kitchen equipment. Good shower. Air con In the bedroom was a great asset. Clean and tidy ,a change of sheets and towels for our second week. Pool was lovely and quiet, and at times we had it all to ourselves. We made full use of the communial garden which we enjoyed. Really enjoyed our stay.

( It would of been handy to have something to mop the tiled floors with, and also something to clean the toilet with ( ie toilet wipes ) as having a 2 week stay things do get a bit mucky )

We will definitely be returning .

Perfect ,clean apartment in quiet area

We have just returned from a week in Malta, This apartment was perfect for our holiday ,Weather was a little cold at night so I was delighted to find hot water bottles and extra blankets , , Home from home ,Lovely hiking weather ,The bus service was great, We bought a 7 day ticket for 21 euro and traveled around the island , We we took ferry to Gozo and Camino , Swam in the Blue Lagoon and in the sea just down the road from the apartment , We did not need to hire a car as the little local shop had anything you might need and it was only a short walk to the bus stop.

Taxi to collect us and drop us back to airport as arraged by owner was perfect.

We took a i pod with us for radio and music as we were aware there was no Tv in apartment , A 20 euro local sim card in our phone gave us internet ascess ,

All went well ,

A perfectly situated little gem for two

Despite the accurate property description we were still surprised by the size of this apartment. The open plan kitchen and sitting area was huge and there was plenty of storage room in the bedroom for our winter clothes. We used the living room heating on cool evenings and found it effective for the whole flat. The shower and the washing machine also worked well. The apartment was clean, bright and well lit at night.

We found the Star complex very peaceful but enjoyed being in a lived in environment. The village had everything we needed and the wifi near the church always worked. Green's supermarket in the next village had to be experienced to be believed, wow!

We went for long strolls up and down the coast and found we were perfectly placed for driving to Gozo, Dingli cliffs, Mdina and Marsaxxlox. Nowhere was too far, although we did get the bus into Sliema, much easier than taking the car. We enjoyed the food and the mild, though windy weather. A perfect break at this time of year. Not suitable for anyone looking for lively nightlife nearby.

Incredibly disappointing

The property was dark, dingy and damp. It smelled when we first arrived. We spent our first evening looking for alternative accommodation but couldn't find any vacancies so sadly had to stay at this apartment, which felt more like a council flat than a holiday destination. The 'double bed' was two old and uncomfortable single mattresses pushed together on a homemade bed base which kept drifting apart in the night. The sheets were old and dirty and we suspect the bed had fleas as my partner was bitten every night despite keeping the windows closed to keep mosquitoes out. We were provided with only two small towels for a five night stay and there was no TV or even a radio. There were no instructions for using the washing machine so one morning we had cold showers as the machine took priority for hot water. The sea is not 300 yards away as advertised and you really do need a car if you plan to rent this apartment as it is a long way from a decent restaurant. The local information provided at the apartment was well out of date, with recommendations from 2007! The directions didn't make a lot of sense as so much had changed since they were written. We didn't enjoy Malta at all, the place is over crowded and in dire need of updating and we would not recommend it to anyone. Sorry.

The apartment is located in a quiet ares between the popular resorts of St. Julians, Paceville and St. Paul's Bay. Miles of coast line walking and good shopping are found in the St. Julians areas. Valletta the Capital is twenty minutes by car. There is so much to do for the adventurous: scuba diving,(Malta voted top dive destination in Europe according to Diver magazine), snorkeling, wind surfing, rock climbing, golf and for those looking for a slower pace; three thousand years of history, country and seaside walks. In late winter and early spring the Maltese Islands offer the most fascinating country walks, breathtaking array of scenic landscapes ,quiet coves and tranquil harbours. Three quarters of an hour away by car you can catch the ferry to the island of Gozo. A thirty minute crossing will take you to this enchanting island. Malta has year-round music, theatre and art galleries and is an island for all seasons.

In the vicinity there is the Mediterraneo Water Park. This is popular with water rides, an attractive pool and Marine Park where one can swim with dolphins. There is a small sandy foreshore very close by as well as the rocky beach.

Golf: The Royal Malta Golf Club is half an hour away from the apartment: www.royalmaltagolfclub.com

The new national aquarium, ten minutes drive away in Qawra is worth visiting. It iis situated on the edge of St. Paul' Bay, on one of Malta's most picturesque promenades: www.aquarium.com.mt
