Less than a 10 minute walk to Salema and the beach (500 m)

The apartment on the lower floors (19A) sleeps 4-6 people in 2-3 bedrooms. This apartment has a front balcony with a sea view and a secluded rear patio garden for the afternoon sun.

The top floor apartment (19B) which sleeps up to 4 people, has a front balcony and secluded private roof terrace both with views of Salema, the beach and sea.

The house is less than a ten minute walk to the beach and the centre of the beautiful traditional fishing village of Salema. To the rear of the property is the Costa Vicentina National Park and walk 50 meters through the pine trees for uninterrupted views of the national park with its fantastic coastal walks and secluded beaches.

In Salema there are a number of good restaurants and cafes and a couple of small bars. There is also a small supermarket for basic needs.

There is a larger Intermarche supermarket 10 minutes drive away, in Budens, which gives a larger choice of groceries. There is also a Lidl in Vila Do Bispo which is 15 minutes drive towards Sagres.

All linen is provided and is of the best quality, we also provide beach towels. The apartment is cleaned and the linen changed weekly.

2 - 3 bedroom apartment for 4 - 6 people. On the first floor is a large open plan living area with a lounge with log burning stove, dining area and newly fitted kitchen. Also on this floor is a master bedroom with a super king size bed and a twin bedroom (which has access out onto the rear patio garden) and a family bathroom. On the ground floor (at an extra charge) is a twin bedroom with en suite shower room (only used if booked as 3 bed). Local License no AL/481

There is a front balcony with a table and 6 chairs for eating breakfast in the sunshine.

At the rear of the property is a patio garden with table, chairs and sunbeds. The garden gets the afternoon sunshine and has a shaded area underneath a stunning Borgonvilia tree.

All outside areas are completely private and are only available for use by the occupants of this apartment.

Salema is a perfect place to be on holidays. The apartment is in a quiet and is perfect retreat from the noise. Everything is very well prepared in the apartment and is very comfortable. We liked it.

Wonderful flats

We stayed in apt 19b and it was ideal. Lovely views, very comfortable and well equipped, especially the kitchen. We instantly relaxed and felt at home. Customer service was friendly and efficient. Salema is quiet with relaxing beach and a range of cafes and restaurants which suit a variety of needs. From there with a car, wilder west coast beaches are accessible as are towns such as Lagos with good beaches but also tourist trips and a wider range of shops and restaurants. Our adult family and two small grandchildren stayed in 19A which was also ideal for the larger group with outdoor spaces and comfortable indoor facilities too. Everyone had their own space but could combine for meals and relaxation. Close enough to town centre and beach not to need the car all the time. Good parking and access to beach equipment which was very helpful too.

Lovely apartment in a lovely village

We stayed in the 1st floor apartment - comfortable, clean, a well-equipped kitchen and two large and very pleasant outdoor spaces to sit and read or have meals. The apartment was also lovely and cool even though the weather was very hot, so no uncomfortable hot sleepless nights. It's a steep walk down to the beach but very short and easy and well worth it when you get there. Sally was extremely helpful when we were booking and it certainly lives up to the description. Would most certainly recommend.

Wonderful apartment in a beautiful place

Sally's apartment is a great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere in Salema. It's spacious, clean, well-equipped and in a great location (close to the water). There are many hiking trails nearby for those who want to explore the beautiful surroundings but the apartment has two patios for those who want to spend a day relaxing in the sun. As for Sally, she is extremely helpful and easy to get in touch with. Definitely recommend staying here!

A Great Place To Stay In Salema

My wife and I visited the apartment at the top of the property in September 2011. We found it extremely well appointed throughout. Seems there's nothing that hasn't been thought of. For us, breakfast on the balcony developed into lunch on the roof garden. Sun and shade available all day without leaving the premises. Sky TV & a wide selection of books provided interest when the stress of sitting in the sun looking at the best view in the village got a little too much! When we did venture down to the beach, bars and restaurants we found everything as inviting as ever. Salema seems to have found the knack of retaining it's fishing village heart whilst providing all the facilities that visitors seem to regard as essential. All done very tastefully. Which also sums up the way the apartment is presented.

Couldn't have asked for more.

Right from first contact Sally was helpful & ready to answer any questions we had. Casa Alvorada was perfect for our 4 person 5 day break. The welcome pack of beers, wine, cheese, bread etc. was a lovely touch & something we were greatful for on arrival.

The property offered everything you need for a comfortable stay & was very clean & well maintained.

Although the weather was not kind (it was January after all) we still enjoyed the surrounding area & Salema offered plenty of choice for eating out even in the quiet off season period.

I'd happily recommend either of these properties to friends or family, I may even re-visit later again this year.

Hospitality, location and all you could want

We spent a most relaxing and welcome 10 days here over Christmas and New Year. Everything that could have been done for us was, and more, from the generous welcome package, to restaurant recommendations and hidden places to visit. Only a one hour drive from Faro airport on the new motorway, Salema is 15 kms west of Lagos and 15 kms east of Sagres. Salema is a traditional Portugese fishing village with a safe sandy beach and several excellent beach bars/restaurants. Other nearby attractions are: Praia da Luz - 10 minutes, Portimao - 30 minutes, Monchique - 40 minutes. Parque de Floresta golf - 5 minutes, Palmares Golf - 20 minutes.
