About Kevin Wiles
Welcome to COSY Farms. When we, Kevin & Tina, decided to buy a place where we and our families could get away from the "city life", we decided to REALLY get away, and picked a very remote location in a very small town.
Kevin Wiles purchased this Lodge in 2010
Why Kevin Wiles chose Washburn
COSY Farms has allowed us to grow our own, all natural foods, and share our philosophy of self-sustainability with those who visit the farm that have interest - or just give folks a way to "get back to nature".
What makes this Lodge unique
The ponds, creek, pastures, views, and old, huge trees, together with the uniqueness of the homes and barns located on the property (a cabin and barn that are over 150 years old), and seashells in the rocks at the top of the mountain (if you are able to make it up there), remind us all of what has been, and of what is really important.

Secluded and peaceful
We spent 6 nights here with our three young kids. When I booked this, I was worried that the kids would be bored since there's no pool, no playground or the typical amenities that parents look for when booking a vacation. However, it was nice to be able to let the kids pretty much run free in and out of the house at will, as there is literally nothing else coming up to the house. They seemed to entertain themselves chasing lizards, picking flowers and the few toys we brought with us as well. As for the cabin, it's very homey and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and basic pantry items which came in handy. The sunset views are spectacular from the back porch and where our evenings as a family were spent. There were a few issues partly because you're in the woods, while we were there we had a mouse problem but it wasn't awful, and Kevin was treating while we were there for the mice. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our time there. My kids loved riding around on the golf cart (we did many laps around the farm!) and fishing in the pond. We visited Pigeon Forge twice while there which is about 1.5 hours from the cabin so we just had to plan carefully before leaving. We also visit Briarwood Auto Safari about 45min away which I highly recommend!
Thank you, Mindy, for your kind words. We are glad you and your family had a good time while visiting.
Many apologies for the mouse (it has since been removed - something Kevin wasn't comfortable doing with small children in the Lodge while you folks were still there). Unfortunately, field mice, as well as many other "creatures," like the woods as much, if not more, than we humans do. Please know that we do all that we can to make sure that all of the woodland creatures stay outside, where they belong, but occasionally they show us how "smart" they are.
We hope your family will come visit again, and that you have a wonderful rest of your summer!

The Lodge at COSY Farms
This place was wonderful. We have stayed in a lot of places and it's the best
It's relaxing and quiet. There's farm animals and places to walk around. There's a pond if you want to fish. It's just is a beautiful place.
Thank you so much, Tara! We enjoyed having you (and thank your son, again, for the help with the llamas - we still haven't gotten them to move, but it was fun trying!), and we hope you guys will come join us again!

The beauty of the 5 star place is so breath taking that all you want to do is spend time on the back porch and feeling relaxed and at peace. Perfect place.

Rest, Relaxation, and Restoration at Cosy Farms
We had a wonderfully restful getaway at The Lodge. We have stayed in many places booked through differing companies. Often you cannot really tell what you are getting until you arrive. Kevin & Tina have gone far & above with attention to detail & preparation. We particularly appreciated the comfortable bed, ample towels & supplies, and well outfitted kitchen. This is important because it is about 30 minutes to the closest town with restaurants, so it is necessary to eat most meals at the Lodge. Also, the Lodge is pet-friendly, so they even fenced a portion of the yard in back so your pet can be out without a leash. Although somewhat “off the grid”, there is still plenty to do with the farm animals, fishing, hiking, a golf cart to ride around on, and even a fire pit out back for S’mores! Wood for fire pit and wood-burning stove in Lodge is plentifully provided. The Lodge is comfortably spacious for a couple or for the whole family. Also, just 45 minutes to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We would highly recommend this property!
Thank you for the kind words, and for the note you left behind. I was able to fix the couch and had no idea that the gas was out on the grill. The note was very helpful. Hope you guys come back soon.
Love love the cabin!!!!
Kevin and Tina are super sweet and kind. We had a great stay! Look forward to stay with you guys again.
Thanks so much, Wenjie! We hope you guys can come again soon (and that all is well with you all...thinking about 'ya with all that you have going on)!

The Lodge at COSY Farms
Very secluded and peaceful location. If you want to get away from it all, but still drive to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Morristown, Knoxville or Bristol for a day of park activities, shopping, fishing, a football game or a race, you're not that far away. But at the end of the day, you can come back to a night, or a couple of days, of truly quiet time.
The Farm is situated between Norris Lake and Cherokee Lake; access to either is within a 20 minute drive, and both have boat rentals (if you don't have your own) for great fishing.
The Farm itself has 2 stocked, spring fed ponds, and several farm animals that are "kid friendly".
Only serious hikers should attempt to hike up the portion of Clinch Mountain located on the Farm, but all are welcome to try.
If you have a horse of your own, we have a stable available, along with a pasture for overnight/weekend stays, and know of a few nice rides in the area.
Nights by the fire pits, especially in the Fall and Spring, are truly COSY.
Bird watching and wildlife viewing are incredible, as we have several acres of "untouched" forest on the Farm...deer, turkey, many bird species, butterflies, fox squirrels, lightning bugs...there is always something to watch, no matter the season.
The "Lodge" as we call it, has basic TV and a stereo system, a DVD/VHS player and a landline (as most cell phone carriers are not covered in this area).
It is truly a place to be "on vacation" for a few days or a week. Read, listen to music, enjoy the outdoors, and most of all, the peace and quiet...get COSY!
