Our home is set on a hill overlooking rolling hills of the Sonoma countryside.
About Chantal Herbert
Marissa and I love to eat and drink with friends and family. I love to ride horses, surf, travel and parent. Marissa loves to dance and to be creative and to get stuff done. We have a son who is eight years old. He loves video games, reading and riding horses. We are great guests and hosts. We really enjoy connecting with friends and we really like leaving places better than we found them. Marissa has a talent for flower arrangement, bringing gifts, writing thank you letters and interior decorating. I love to cook and get a major sense of satisfaction from seeing people happy and sated at my table. I met Marissa at Cerro Pampa and I have so many other amazing memories on that property. It can be restful or exciting but it is always fun! Marissa and I are having a son in July so while we are on that adventure I hope you will have many good times at Cerro Pampa.
Why Chantal Herbert chose Petaluma
We are located on a Polo Horse Ranch in Sonoma County. We are less than 10 minutes from downtown Petaluma, CA. We are surrounded by an incredible amount of beautiful destinations all within an hour’s drive. Very near Olema, Inverness & Point Reyes. We are about 40mins from Bodega Bay & Napa and only 30 to Sonoma where you can spend the day wine tasting. We are just under an hour away from San Francisco or the East Bay where there are countless things to go discover.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Guests have access to the entire property which includes the main Hacienda house, The Hillside unit and the Casita. Both outside dining areas with a Weber BBQ and two fire pits. Complete access to the Pool anytime while staying respectful of ranch quiet hours from 10pm until 8am. The pool has solar heating and will be “winterized” before the temperature drops to freezing. This usually occurs in late October/November and the heating stays off until around March/April. If you book a visit during those months you are welcome to use the pool however it would NOT be heated during your stay and it would be very cold. The weather is ever changing and we cannot guarantee a specific temperature in the pool on any specific date around the months mentioned above. There is no lifeguard on duty. Children must be supervised at all times. Swim at your own risk.

House was beautiful. Fit all guest with no issues. Chantal the property manager was awesome.
Beautiful, quite home — perfect for a big gathering.
We loved our stay at the hacienda. We cooked dinner every night in the well appointed kitchen and were able to get back and forth to Petaluma in a snap when we were missing ingredients. The house felt grand and understated at the same time. Slept all 15 comfortably. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Perfect for our family vacation!
Fifteen family members, aged 5 - 67, stayed at this property which is conveniently located to vineyards, Muir Woods, San Francisco and many cool places to visit. The Hacienda's large layout allowed us all to gather to eat, spend time together and to watch the action on the the polo field. The kids enjoyed the pool and watching the horses up close. Lots of extras (soaps, shampoo, spices, paper products, trash bags and more) were provided. Flies were plentiful, just as advertised. Family members from Oakland will be back to Petaluma to visit soon!
The owner was prompt with responses before and during our stay. We felt very welcomed!
Large Estate perfect for larger groups, well provided for on all accounts!
Magnificent views and close proximity to endearing animals and a polo field!
Beautiful setting and excellent facilities
Every year our nonprofit organization rents a house for our board retreat. This year we chose Cerro Pampa Hacienda and couldn't have been more pleased. The views from the house and the grounds are really spectacular, as is the surrounding area. We had to run into Petaluma a couple of times to get some additional groceries, and it was just a quick trip. In addition to the horses there was quite a range of wildlife, such as rabbits, deer, a snake, and so many birds. We did a lot of cooking, and the cooks commented on how well stocked the kitchen was--there's usually something missing in houses like these, but not this time. Chantal was available and responsive the whole time. My only regret was that the weather was a little too chilly to be able to use the pool (except for by one of the heartier members of our group).
Team stay for Shell Ecomarathon at Sonoma Raceway
Overall, the house was a great option for our group of 16! We especially liked the "gathering" option in the morning when everyone could grab breakfast in the main house and touch base for the day. Similarly, we would gather in the main house for a late supper and discussion of the "plan" for the next day when returning for the evening from our event (usually somewhere between 9:00 & 11:00 p.m.). The kids only got into the pool on the last night, as it had been quite cold and late when we would return. It is definitely an option we would consider again if returning to the Sonoma Raceway for this event.
