Overview

About the property

Waratah Hills Homestead is set on 4 acres with breathtaking views of Wilsons Promontory, Waratah Bay, Shallow Inlet and Corner Inlet. An imposing bluestone home with feature leadlighting, Waratah Hills Homestead is a very special place to come and celebrate, holiday or just relax. Suitable for couples, one or two families or a group of friends.

A large open living area is the centre of the home with a dining table to seat 10 and two lounging areas, one drenched in sunlight under the large central skylight and the other with unimpeded views and an impressive wood fire and bluestone chimney.

The Master bedroom has a full sized ensuite with spa, striking stained glass window, walk in robe and views from both bed and bath. The third bedroom is set up for children with a TV and DVD player, puzzles, games, dolls, train set and plenty of books.

Main bedroom: 1 Queen bed

Second bedroom: 1 Queen bed

Third bedroom: 2 single beds

Fourth bedroom: Double bunk (double on bottom, single on top)

Also available = 2 portacots, 2 toddler mattresses, 2 high chairs.

The fourth bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom making this 'wing' perfect for one family, sharing the ensuite and the other 'wing' (second and third bedroom) perfect for another family sharing the main bathroom.

The kitchen is large and well equipped with an Ilve stove and cook top, KitchenAid saucepans and frypans and Nespresso machine and coffee pods for your use. Drenched in early morning sunlight, enjoy the large breakfast table and bench seats that can hold all guests. Quality serving platters and bowls make entertaining easy. Toasted sandwich machine, hand blender, all the BBQ accessories you will need and sharp knives make this an easy kitchen to work in.

Outside you will find a huge deck with comfy couches, two large impressive umbrellas and an outdoor table that can seat ten. Look up and find our frequent visitor, a koala, in the trees around the house. There are also plenty of outdoor games on offer; skittles, boules, coits and a giant game of pick up sticks!

The gardens, over 1 acre, are abundant with birds and native plants. With plenty of lawn for children to run and play, cows in the paddock and wildlife (hence the no dogs policy), Waratah Hills Homestead has it all for you to enjoy your stay.

Just 15 minutes to your choice of stunning beaches: Sandy Point, Waratah Bay, Walkerville or Shallow Inlet and 15 minutes to the gates of Wilsons Promontory and all it has to offer. A short drive to Fish Creek and its cafes and art establishments, Foster and its wonderful Market, cool climate wineries (Waratah Hills and Basia Mille Winery within 5 minute drive), Agnes Falls, Koonwarra and Stony Creek Go Karts make this a perfect destination for whatever your preferred pursuit on your next holiday.

Included in the rate is all linen and cleaning supplies plus extras; towels, hand towels, tea towels, bath mats, sheets, pillows, pillow slips, doonas, dishwashing detergent, clothes washing detergent and lots of little things that might make your stay easier if you are entertaining (eg. Nespresso coffee pods, flour, olive oil, tomato sauce, salt and pepper grinders, milo, tea bags, sugar, cocoa powder, gravox, cous cous, pasta, rice, baking powder) and picnic baskets. Just turn up!

And finally, to keep the costs down, we just ask that you strip the beds when you leave, wash your dishes and put them away, take your rubbish out to the bins and leave the house tidy. We love it when you treat our house like it's your house!

An amazing place for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Waratah Hills Homestead with our 3 children aged 15,12 and 9 and what a view!! The house and property are beautiful. Everything is very well maintained and in working order - great kitchen to cook in, games inside and out for the children. The best trampoline ever (according to my 9 year old). Modern furniture and super comfy beds. We had the most relaxing restful week. Sitting outside on the deck enjoying the sun. When the temperature dropped a bit at night, we loved lighting the fire (plenty of wood chopped and ready to go) and relaxing with a movie. The location of the house is excellent. A short drive to fish creek which does a great pub meal. Close enough to the prom for a day trip, but you feel like you are a world away from the busyness of everyday life. Kate was excellent to deal with responding promptly and with lots of info about the local area. We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay and experience Prom country

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful grand homestead has plenty of space for everyone with all the comforts and conveniences of home. The Prom views and local birdlife visiting the property are spectacular. A peaceful, welcoming space to come back to after enjoying all The Prom has to offer by day, or if it's raining and you're stuck inside the place is perfect to relax, cook and play the board games provided. Loved it.

Lovely Property

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time we've stayed and each time has been great. This was the first time in winter and the fire was fabulous. But we also had the pleasure of using the new wood fired slow cooker which worked a treat and also warmed up the whole house
