Villa townhouse in Las Fuentes Costa Del Azahar, Spain. A new 3 bedroom/3 bathroom house situated in a fabulous location just 5 minutes from the marina and promenade. The property is arranged over 3 floors with 3 separate terraces and a private garden. The property is in a secure gated complex surrounded by beautiful established landscaped gardens. There is a large swimming pool with views over the Mediterranean and a paddling pool. The property is newly furnished with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, double glazing, hot and cold air-conditioning and the main bathroom has a large bath. There is also a flat screen TV and stereo.
We stayed here in August 2014. The property was as described although the en-suite shower was out of action (for the whole summer but we were not told this before hand). Although we had an email when we got back confirming we would receive our deposit ,we have never received the money. We have emailed the owner several times but have not had a reply.
We have stayed at this property on a number of occasions on our own and with family and friends at different times of the year, for the last 4 years, and have always had a great time.
The villa and grounds of the complex are well maintained with a superbly landscaped infinity swimming pool, children’s pool, and shaded areas by large pine trees.
We have found it to be perfectly located for access to the sea front and child friendly beaches. There is a great selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops just 10 minutes along the marina promenade, as well as in Alcossebre, which is a short 20-minute walk away.
Alcossebre is a cosmopolitan town with all nationalities well catered for, but less commercialised than many areas of Spain which we find quite refreshing. The castles of Peñíscola and Morella are also well worth a visit, as are the Natural Area and lighthouse which are a short 5 minute walk from the end of the road.
Without question this is one of the best self-catering properties we have stayed in, with top marks for cleanliness and great location.
I felt i had to write a review to say what a wonderful holiday we had in your beautiful townhouse - their were 5 of us ranging in age from 60 (something!) down to 12 years old - the house was light, spacious and incredible clean - it had plenty of room for all of us and we never felt short of space - the house was well equiped with all domestic appliances and the air-con was brilliant - especially welcome as it was so hot outside.
The complex itself is set in a stunning location, mountains behind and beach to the front - and what a pool!I Ihave stayed in many places over the years and i have to confess this is the best pool ever - we had 2 teenagers with us and it was almost impossible to pry them away to go anywhere else - even the local beach!
There are plenty of local amenities and it is a short 10-15 min walk into the main beachfront area of the town which is a lovely place to promanade to in the evening and find somewhere to eat - this in itself was quite dificult as there is a wide range of restaurants - we did not have one bad meal whilst we were there
And can i make a huge recommendation to try the cocktails in the little bar next to the complex - they are great! and it is a really family friendly place with free bowls of popcorn for the kids
All in all it was a fantastic holiday and i would not hesitate in coming back to stay again
For us the garden was the highlight of the property: a stunning infinity pool plus a lovely children's pool with entrance via ramp not steps. Large area of grass with ample shade due to pine trees. View of the sea from poolside.
Re the house, it is good for two families: one takes the double bedroom with adjoining shower room on the second floor and the other takes the two twin bedrooms with bathroom on the first floor (as long as the top floor family parents don't mind sharing with their offspring!). Ground floor living room is light and has large glass doors which open onto a patio holding a table seating six adults. It is a lovely spot to have breakfast and dinner, but does get the midday sun so needs a cunning arrangement of towels on the overhead beams for cover if dining out at lunchtime. Inside is always cool as there is air conditioning throughout. The property is very clean and washing machine and dishwasher worked well. The outdoor shower room was useful as an area for storage of beach gear and for drying clothes.
Property is a 5 minute walk to a good beach. Not too crowded in early July. Sand does get damp due to natural springs so best to bring either deckchairs or a waterproof mat to place under towels.
Within 10 mins walk is the parade of restaurants at the marina, a mix of casual and formal. Mainly Spanish cuisine. On route is a pretty promenade which gets busy in the evening.
We needed a car to get to the large supermarket, but there is a small supermarket in the same road as the property.
The house is situated in the picturesque village of Las Fuentes on the Costa Azahar which is known as the Orange Blossom Coast. Las Fuentes is on the edge of the Sierra De Irta national park, surrounded by sandy coves and the Las Fuentes blue flag beach. Situated in the region of Castellon, it is 1 hours drive north of Valencia and 1.5 hours drive from Reus, which is home to Universal Studios at Port Aventura, and 2 hours south of Barcelona. In Beniccassim, which is half an hour away, there is Aquarama Water Park and go-karting complex. There are 2 golf courses within 40 minutes drive and Europe's largest salt water half spa. There are also excellent restaurants in Las Fuentes/Alcossebre offering local delicacies and produce. Not forgetting excellent shopping in Valencia, Castellon and Barcelona. Paella is famous in the area from the standard meat and beans paella to lobster, monkfish and cuttlefish paella. It also offers other excellent fresh local produce, fruit and cheese.
