Roxanne Hopkins purchased this Farmhouse in 1991
Why Roxanne Hopkins chose Candelo
"Inglewood" farm was settled in 1864 and has been a dairy farm all its life in the beautiful Candelo village. The beautiful main homestead and other farm home- Berowra cottage was built from timber milled on the property and has weathered all types of weather. The old farm trees were planted by the original owners "Solomans" who loved the English gardens and hence we have the oldest pin oak tree, Port Douglas fig trees, coral trees, pine trees and other large beautiful trees placed around the homesteads. Farm life continues on this working farm where beef production, lamb and wool is its main primary production.

We had a lovely break away. The children loved exploring the farm surroundings, feeding animals & learning about the running of the farm & caring for the animals. Mark was very patient & kind with them & answered their many questions. The cottage was immaculate & had lots provided to make our stay comfortable. There was plenty of room for six guests. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to the fires. However the boys and I plan to rebook.
Maryann, Josh & Theo
Our 2 early teen boys had a great time helping out with the cattle, sheep, alpacas and chooks. They also loved the pool, especially at night with the gorgeous lights. Roxy left us homemade bread and all the pantry staples you could need. The house was comfortable, quiet and perfectly located. We spent days exploring the coast from Eden to Bega. The local pub had schnitzel night and the General Store stocked all the good stuff. Sitting on the back deck early in the morning before the family awoke, sipping my coffee, enjoying the view, with birds and cattle for company was perfect. A great place for a family getaway. Highly recommend.
Great getaway with the kids
Had a great time on the farm. Roxanne & Mark are lovely hosts. The cottage was well equipped and the children loved the open space and the all the animals.
Amazing property and owners
From the initial booking through to arrival and our entire stay - Roxy and Mark have been incredibly professional, yet so friendly and welcoming. Our cottage was immaculate with absolutely everything we could need for our family of five. Roxy and Mark thought of all things from a well stocked pantry, fantastic catered kitchen for all our needs, laundry facilities with a lingerie bag, comfy beds with gorgeous linen and so many games, books and dvds to entertain us in the evenings. The kids could do as much or as little as they liked and they LOVED helping out to feed the calves, sheep, lambs, pigs and especially the chickens, their chicks and not forgetting Sookie! We were after quality family time and that’s exactly what you gave us. We can’t thank you enough Roxy and Mark. Till next time x
