Absolutely stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Riverdowns for three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We arrived late the first night and found the house all lit up and very welcoming. The next morning, we woke to the most spectacular view from the bedroom window. The pictures do not capture how beautiful the location is. The house is also really well renovated and has everything you could possibly need (not to mention the most comfortable bed in the history of holiday rentals!). The house is very private and we spent our days lazing under the trees reading. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax and unwind. We will definitely return.

Location location!

  • 5 of 5

My second time at Riverdowns, this time staying in the lovely and very comfortable cottage. Gorgeous views of the Howqua river and an abundance of wildlife make for a memorable and relaxing weekend, a world away from city life. The cottage is beautifully appointed; quality bedding, towels and kitchenware and some lovely free range eggs to enjoy from the chooks.

We booked a fly fishing lesson with Andy and highly recommend to anyone wanting to try - we were complete novices and loved the experience. Thanks Andy, we will definately be back!

Melbourne Mini break

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful property you have Andy and Penny. Thank you so much for having us stay (and our pooch might we add- I hope she wasn't a bother). We really appreciate your flexibility so we could enjoy the amazing snow and have a relaxing place to come home to, cook a meal, drink wine and watch the wild. Despite the chill it was warm and cosy... we had a possum in the roof that thought so too, but that didn't bother us at all. All part of the nature surrounds :) Kangaroos, ducks, chickens and deer all locals too and nice the be amongst. Thanks again.

Excellent location

Great location, ckickens and cows are awesome and the fishing is excellent. The only thing is that the back deck needs a lot of work.

We stayed in the Miners Hut, fabulous. Beautiful rustic charm with the right touches of modern. Quality cutlery, glasses etc all help. Then there's the out side area, stunning location, well maintained, peaceful. Magic.
