Overview

About the property

Located 15 minutes from the beautiful township of Foster, just 10 minutes from the gates of Wilson's Promontory (which now has free entry), and even closer to the magnificent beaches of Waratah Bay and Sandy Point (both less than 10 minutes by car), Quintana makes an excellent base for a holiday exploring South Gippsland.

Quintana is a brand new property, and has been custom designed with three families holidaying together in mind, although the layout would suit any large group. The house sleeps 18 people comfortably with six bedrooms, including 3 with queen beds, and 3 "bunk" rooms (sleeping 3, 4 and 5), and a large bathroom and separate ensuite. It's tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of little touches to make your stay more enjoyable.

Since we've gone to the trouble of building the place, there's a number of things from our accommodation wish-list that we've included, such as 2 dishwashers (one just never seems enough with a crowd), super comfy couches, a cupboard full of board games for young and old, heaps of cutlery and crockery, decent sized mugs and glasses (less getting off the comfy couches for refills!), sharp knives that are actually capable of cutting stuff and awesome showers (even better than at home). We've also included a number of features to keep the little people happy, including an big in-ground trampoline, safely landscaped outdoor area with plenty of room to run (the block is just under 2 acres, fully fenced), a small basketball court (bring your ball) and a big screen TV and Wii with heaps of games and four controllers.

A more recent addition is a schmick new woodfire to keep you toasty on those cold Gippsland nights! Firewood is provided... just bring some kindling.

Smoking prohibited.

Sorry, no pets.

Not suitable for bachelor/hens parties or schoolies.

Guest information

We're not a fan of the way many properties advertise "from" a certain rate, but by the time you've added extra charges for additional guests/linen/bond, the price nearly doubles. Especially for large families, like our own.

For this reason, we've tried to keep the pricing inclusive and simple, and the pricing calculated by the Stayz website is always correct, but to summarise.....

Off peak weeknights: $375/night

Off peak weekends (Fri/Sat nights): $475/night

Peak periods (Victorian school holidays/public holiday weekends): $575/night

Repeat customers may notice an increase in price: this is an unfortunate neccessity due to Stayz quadrupling their booking fees.

These prices include the full capacity of the house (up to 18 guests), but you will need to bring linen. Each bed has a pillow, mattress and pillow protectors, a doona and blanket, so just bring your own sheets/doona covers/pillow cases and towels.

We have a 100,000 litre water tank with the latest in pump and filter technology, so the water is fully filtered and pristine at every tap in the house.

The house is well stocked with all the kitchen necessities for cooking for a crowd, including a 1 1/2 oven, two dishwashers and a large BBQ along with lots of bench space and a "crowd-friendly" kitchen design. There is a slow cooker, rice cooker, food processor, stick blender, 2 sandwich-presses and lots of servingware. We have also provided a large array of picnicware, thermoses, cool bags, picnic rugs and leakproof plastic containers to make catering for daytrips easy, and to save you from having to bring these items from home.

The downside (or upside, depending on your perspective!) of the rural setting is that mobile coverage is limited. We have found Telstra and Optus mobiles get OK coverage if outside, but signals are weak inside. Quintana is also outside ADSL coverage, so for those who really need internet access, there is a router connected to a prepaid Telstra account that guests can use at standard Telstra prepaid rates (and share with other guests if desired).

We hope all of these features will add to the enjoyment of your stay.

Frequently asked questions

The nearest shop is the Sandy Point General Store which is about 10 minutes away, and fine for some bread and milk. Foster is a more substantial town with 2 supermarkets and is about 15 minutes away. Many guests do their big shop in Leongatha on the way down where there is a choice of Coles, Woolworths and IGA.

Beautiful property1

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Quintana!! There was so much room for all of us to move around, didn't feel crowded or squashed. Really happy with the amount of utensils and kitchenware provided, made cooking and dinning in with the family easy, and the two dishwashers were a big help, saving cleaning up time. The outdoor trampoline and basketball court were a bonus and was well used. The location was also perfect!! Overall a great place to get away with friends and relax

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic weekend at Quintana! There were 17 of us and we didn't feel crowded at all. Even with just the 2 bathrooms between us all, it was never really a problem. The property is well-fitted and pretty much has everything you could possibly need, particularly in the kitchen! The beds are really comfy too! Location-wise, it's perfect, so many great places to visit, Walkerville was really lovely. If there were any negatives at all, it would just be that there are a couple of small maintenance issues (nothing serious) and that it could possibly have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly before we arrived. But we would definitely recommend the property and would go back again!

Beautiful holiday home, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Quintana. The house was very spacious, fit 8 adults and 10 children easily, and the central living room/dining room was great for bringing everyone together. Beds were very comfortable. Sharing 2 bathrooms was a challenge at times but we managed. The trampoline and basketball court were a hit with the kids and adults. The Wii was fantastic when it rained one morning. A few minor things needed maintenance which we passed on to the owners but these did not dampen our stay. Fantastic location, plenty to see and do. We visited Sandy Point beach, Cape Liptrap Coastal Park (Walkerville South), Cape Liptrap Lighthouse, Shallow Inlet, Foster, Agnes Falls, Squeaky Beach & Tidal River (Wilsons Prom). It's obvious that the owners have put a lot of thought into making the stay enjoyable for guests, we highly recommend a stay at Quintana.

Enjoyable Stay

  • 4 of 5

We were three families spending a week together at Quintana. Property location and size were very good. The house could do with an extra refrigerator and bathroom to properly cater for 15 people. We had eskys on the back porch for our drinks and topped them up with ice every day. The BBQ also needs to be maintained as all burners don't work, making BBQ'ing slower. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Quintana.

Fantastic holiday home for exrended family break

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful two night stay on the weekend with our extended family. The house was brilliantly laid out with plenty of bedrooms and a large living area which is the house of the home. The in ground trampoline and basketball hoop were well utilised by young and old alike. The view was an unexpected bonus. We would highly recommend Quintana for a peaceful getaway.

Fantastic Getaway Location

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic loacation, Great for a large group with plenty of living/sleeping space and carparking. Basketball court provided hours of fun, while the trampoline and outdoor space was also a hit. Two dishwashers was a god send for a large group. Owners are fantastic people and very easy and helpful to deal with.
